IN MY OPINION Pujols should do another year as Designated Hitter! If he doesn't do another year, as Designated Hitter, he will live forever at home bored, with restlessness or curiosity asking himself: Why didn't I play another year? The same thing is happening to Álex Rodríguez!

Alber Pujols career home run No. 695 on Sunday, brings him to within five of joining the 700 home run club that currently includes only Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, and Babe Ruth. He is also just one home run behind Alex Rodriguez (696) for fourth on the all-time list. Pujols only played 39 games in 2020 due to being the COVID SEASON. He only had 152 at bats. (6 Hrs). In 2021 with the Angels and Dodgers combined, he only had 275 at bats and hit 17 homeruns.

Batting average is not the only metric that qualifies this. He's top 5 in almost every stat. Hits, total bases, RBIs, home runs, doubles, and he's NEVER struck out more than 100 times in a season in 22 years. Mike Trout does that many strikeouts by the all star break regularly and ya'll say he's the GOAT. He also had an ungodly batting average for about 12 years until he got old and injured. His average was like .340 for 12 years in a row. What was an MVP season now, was a regular season for Albert from 2001-2012. Lastly - his clutchness was ridiculous. Go look up how many playoff home runs and hits he has - and in 2 out / comeback moments. Ask Brad Lidge who the best hitter he ever faced was. Or the Texas Rangers - who Albert took deep 3 times in a single game (only Ruth and Jackson have ever done that) - and for 5 hits that game.
