Arenas S1 E6 - Last Stand

Some of these comments are annoying me. People are complaining about the twists and spins the guy has made on some of the characters and their backgrounds. This is Quake, it's hardly ever been a story driven series. I love what Doom Arenas has done with the characters. Tying in the Q3 intro into the Q2/Q4 universe like that is a fantastic idea! Visor totally looks like a Strogg too so it all fits perfectly in my eyes - even if it didn't. I don't see anyone else making high quality fan videos based off the best multiplayer fps games of all time!

its not the quality of animation that counts so much, whats awesome is the fact that this guy made such a cool interpretation of the quake 3 universe. one of the best things I've seen lately.

@bkrman Quake 4 picks up directly after Quake 2 ends. It's the same attack. We wrote our own stories for Sarge, Visor. Bitterman is from Quake 2. Once again, Kane was the character from Quake 4, which picks up directly as Quake 2 ends and the Makron is killed.

Grunt in Arenas had a limited backstory since we had a plan for him in Season 2 with his own unique identity. Because Id Software named the hero of Quake 2 "Bitterman", but then separated the Grunt model and Bitterman model from each other in Quake 3, we had to use Bitterman in Q3 as the normal Q2 hero and we had to write our own ideas up for the Grunt character. It's a great story that results in a hero's death in the last episode of Season 2.

You guys are only looking into the story half-way. Bitterman was the main character in quake 2. Sarge is also a character in quake 2 that just isn't mentioned up front. But you can read about it. Visor is and has always been a strogg... So saying he isn't is foolish. I love how one of my favorite characters (Ranger) is portrayed here. With the quake one necklace. So fucking bad ass.

This q3 intro interpretation gave the lead why Sarge dissapeared in mid-air in that intro. Thanks. Dont worry about missmatches in the story/plot/universum. Good job

Visor/Gorres design is supposed to be based on the strogg infantry in quake 2 I think.

He fails to understand we wrote in some of our own story, such as Sarge being involved in the storyline of Quake 2 and Quake 4 (which happen back to back in the same week). Visor is never explained by id software as to what he is, so we wrote him to be what we wanted. The main character of Quake 2 was Bitterman. Not Ranger. Main Character of Quake 4 is Kane, but we didn't mention his parallel story.

Quake 2 used the grunt model that we recognize. The name on the pod in Quake 2 is bitterman. Quake 1: ranger Quake 2: Bitterman (grunt model) Quake 3: Sarge Quake 4: Kane. Quake 2 is the only confusing character because id software wrote Bitterman on the pod, but then called the model grunt and re-modeled a new look for Bitterman in Quake 3. Tad confusing, but the name of Quake 2's character still remains Bitterman.

What would(would've) be Bitterman's role in season 2? You've got 2 characters that are basically the same. I hope that season 2 would develop Grunt/Bitterman's story more than the first, as Quake 2 was my favorite.

@Nightmare1066 yes but grunt has the EXACT same model as the quake 2 main character i even downloaded a replacment skin that was his quake 2 model and there was hardly a difference just no detail on the face it was flat with texture and he was more pixalated and bulky but that's all.

hey director goss I'm not sure if you remember X-Plays inter view with the Quake 3 maker but he explians that bitter man is leading the characters through the safe route through the area for survivors. So please make sure you tell people the CORRECT story about bitterman please. He is not the main character of quake 2 like some people say. Also grunt really has no REAL name so you could also reffer to him as "Step-child" like he was origanaly named.
