ARENI-1 CAVE COMPLEX (ARMENIAN: Արենիի քարանձավ) | OLDEST WINERY IN THE WORLD | WINE TASTING |

Areni-1 cave complex (Armenian: Արենիի քարանձավ) is a multicomponent site,[1] and late Chalcolithic/Early Bronze Age ritual site and settlement,[2] located near the Areni village in southern Armenia along the Arpa River. The Areni-1 shoe is a 5,500-year-old leather shoe that was found in 2008 in excellent condition in the Areni-1 cave located in the Vayots Dzor province of Armenia. The oldest known human brain was found. A piece of a brain (biological material measuring 10 cm) was discovered in the summer of 2008.

I assume this video is pre-pandemic, if so, it is amazing how in 10 years they made a nice tourist attraction of this place. All is incredible, so much history that we didn't know about just 15 years ago!

You can also visit the Cave of Magellan, which is the second largest cave in Armenia and the first excursion cave located at the beginning of the gorge leading to Noravank (800 m).😉
