hello there, Wi-Fi is not necessary to be connected if you only see the playback by the monitor screen. When you monitor the video through the Arenti APP, both AInanny Baby Camera and APP need to be connected to the Internet. If the camera is disconnected from Wi-Fi, the alarm message will not be sent to APP. If the camera is successfully connected to Wi-Fi, APP can receive notifications anywhere and anytime by connecting to mobile data or Wi-Fi.
