IKR, in the beginning, the Olympian gods were powerful they could literally do anything. They could heal, bring back dead, cause plaques, storms, conjuring, telekinetic, shape-changing, remote viewing using water, strength, time travel, give other powers, and so much more. But by season 6 the gods were weakened, for example, the gods could only heal if Athena gave them their blessing where before Ares healed a man and also bought back the person he killed from the dead and Hercules healed his father Zeus when he became mortal. When Xena had the power to kill gods the gods could have easily killed Xena by waving their hand and reducing Xena to ash but decide to go hand to hand or using energy blast. In this scene, Callisto knew Xena was here but could not tell where, when Velesca became a god she could hear exactly where Gabrielle, Xena, and Callisto hiding based on hearing their heartbeats

I love this scene because they explained that Callisto can kill Xena and instant but chose not to. They also explained why she did not use her powers because the rocks will come toppling down and kill Hope. Too bad, there never made such an explanation of the later Xena series. But still there never explained why she did just wave her hand and turn to ash or animal. Hera did to one Zeus's mortal lovers so we know the gods can do it.

Because rocks are heavy. Gods are strong and powerful, but only about 10x stronger than a normal person, which is strong, but not nearly strong enough to lift a lot of boulders which can weigh hundreds of lbs each. It could knock them out, also.

But, thats plenty strong enough for any Human. They can create and destroy things....and still cant be hurt or injured at all. But, they can be trapped under very heavy things.

At 3:05 when calisto screams and shoots the fire ball, she actually hit a B6 whistle note and combined with that weird hand movement she did she actually reminded me of jessica simpson when she sang i wanna love you forever live back in the day! She used to make the same facial expressions and hand movements! But callisto's B6 whistle is on par with xena's A5/B5 headvoice battle cry!

She did. She was obsessed with Xena and knew how she thought. It was her immortality that made her a little more lazy with Xena. After becoming a god, there’s a reason Callisto didn’t just smite Xena where she stood: she was her reason to exist and she just saw Xena as more of a plaything than an actual threat/enemy.
