I think you're misunderstanding the great reset. It's just a different way of designing kits / characters. Doesn't make anything obsolete. It's just a balancing mechanism. Illuminati will be fine to invest in, not a waste at all.

Telling people OML is gonna be obsolete is laughable. Ever think they are increasing base stats but lowering boosts from passives and teams? They aren’t just gonna power creep and keep the same complex abilities. (The reason they are putting more into base stats to make the abilities less intricate)

My guy…they may be reducing stat boosts from passives…wtf cares…the end numbers are what they are. Whether the stats derive from passives or they are their base stats, the stat numbers dictate their effectiveness. If Ares had the same base stats as some current toons that got his stats from some passive, then yes, what you are saying is more on point. That is not the case here. Ares BASE stats with NOTHiNG from the passive are astronomically better than current characters WITH BOOSTS from their passives. Now IF Ares is just an anomaly and not reflective of all the characters yet to come, okay, that’s why waiting and seeing is probably a good idea don’t ya think?

I see what you’re getting at, but it’s extreme to say every current character will be obsolete after Ares. That would be crazy of Scopely to do in general, but also financially…..which is probably most important to them. I have been upgrading less and saving more resources lately, but not doing anything until post Ares sounds boring. What you’re saying could happen, but for the sake of the game, hopefully not

I'm so glad I didnt rush through DD7. Just waiting on Ares to start global with BK and cabal as I have those 4 ready. I will then wait on the newer toons for cosmic. The wait was totally worth it.

I agree about the big jump in stats, but i disagree that everything else will be irrelevant. It's not like 10 new teams drop on day 1 with increased stats, so we're going to get to use our roster for a while. Now, eventually, they'll be a dozen new teams with crazy stats that take the place of older teams, but thats happening now, so I dont see much of a change...

So at least for now, if you want mephisto you need to build up at least 4 of the mythic characters. I feel after Apoc and SuS, you gotta pick at least 2 to take up to 100…. Until they make more mythics

But what about characters who survived "the great reset" e.g. Emma still used today no matter her stats. I get where you're coming from, but some of the recent kits are so extreme that they will last for ages. Also, certain abilities like Apocs empowered punch does percentile damage, so more health just equates to more damage. Not investing in illuminati will evidently just result in CC losses.

No idea...I think that's the main point I was getting at is the future landscape is highly uncertain so I will be saving to see what these next few reworks/new releases look like.

SS is great for city and used in raids. I finished dd7 and was easily able to 1 shot the city nodes with ss (Peter, peni, noir, ghost) and gr Robbie. If you have the resources they are amazing. Just make sure you don’t hinder yourself for later sections by doing so.

No idea, again, the point was basically that I am going wait and see what these newer toons will be like. IF they are comparable to current toons stats, then Ares could be an anomaly but...we have seen this movie before..or at least I have. And Ares randomly be so damn powerful stats wise raise eyebrows for sure. And there is literally no harm in seeing what comes out before dumping resources.

Such dumb clickbait. You need at bare minimum: - 60 characters for crucible - 25 characters for raids with little overlap between the two. It will take 1.5-2 years for them to release that many new characters. Nothing is being made obsolete. We'll all replace the oldest and worst characters with the new characters that have huge stats, rather than replacing the oldest and worst characters with new characters that have bigger stats and better kits. Nothing has changed.

Hive Mind is good, and if you've Spider Society up and running, you can do a mix of too, heads up tho, 1-4 would be a nightmare to 3 star, at least it was for me, might depend on your investment, for that node I used Venom, Carnage, Red Goblin, Void Knight and Red Hulk obviously since he's obligatory there, I needed to max him with 7 yellow and 4 red stars, and I'd to lvl him to 90 and it helped, so yea, good luck

Just unlocked Super skrull & Big boy apocalypse at the right time . I have OML maxed out . Not in a rush to start DD7 but I’m about to hoard cores/gold/materials for ares. Any thing else is just gravy

Mythics are needed for DD7 so unless they release more mythics, he is one of those that are needed at the moment. But you might also see how the next few releases pan out.

Yes stop everything, because one character is going to replace your whole roster. You don’t need to do raids anymore and one character will fill your whole war / crucible slots. Clearly silver surfer is peak meta…..what horrible advice.
