Not only did she have "a long run," she had phenomenally successful career, that a singer/musician could only dream, hope and pray for!

That was a G5 btw! Nothing rare or challenging for Aretha, but with that skill & voice she can give any note the intensity she wants it to have.

your reaction was appropriate when she blew that g5 note lol..that note was explosive..n Aretha's phrasing (among many other qualities) is what makes her the Queen of Soul..nobody can sing like her.

I've been a fan of the Queen-Mother of Soul, Aretha Franklin, for many years. I think she is and was the G.O.A.T.!!! I thought I've heard and/or own everything she ever did, but this is the first time I'm seeing this video! This might've been released after her passing??? Thank you much for having it available for me (and others) to see it and for your reaction to it, what a thrill! It's better than the version she recorded in her Live in Paris album, in my opinion!

Not just in so called "Soul" music, but in anything she sang, in my opinion. Including the jingle commercials, she sang. Type: " aretha internet prodigy," as she plays a nurse in a hospital. I think you might like it.

👍 I’m an OWG - old white guy - in Alabama. First concert The Beatles in 65. I’d have traded that ticket to see this one in Sweden ‘68. BTW not too bad for a COUNTRY song, that’s right, written by Willie Nelson covered by hundreds.

Lauryn Hill is amazing though , the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is 9ne of the greatest albums of all time. Aretha is the Queen and G.O.A.T and one of Lauryn Hill inspiration.

@JrG-1992 2 жыл бұрын
@@lyd2460 Yes, but her songs doesn't suit her voice or her vocal skills. If you're going to sing a song that's different from your voice type then it needs to be arranged to where it sounds like you singing every note part by part. When Aretha Franklin sung "A song for you" which was done by another artist she still sounded like Aretha Franklin using her runs and her stylings. On American Idol she sounded like Grace Franklin trying to imitate Lauryn Hill with a few extra notes. She needs to learn how to arranged the music to fit her characteristics. She a modern singer with Aretha Franklin's undertones and rasp. She needs to learn how to her voice and Aretha's songs could've helped her to find her own sound.

LOL! Most often, Grace, like most relatives of people with great artistry or talent, normally ignore and take for granted their outstandingly talented relative or loved one! I remember how Aretha's sons adored some singers that were mediocre, but their mother's greatness was nothing that they cared to talk about! I'm sure they were used to her singing and took her for granted. They might've been sick and tired of hearing her practice and sing???!!!
