Yep. Folk had counted her out but she doubled down on her demands bcuz she knew her worth and value. During this time Aretha Franklin, one who always lamented flying, decided that anybody who wanted to do anything with her needed to come to her to have it done. This and a lot of subsequent works were published and produced almost solely in The Motor City, Detroit, MI. Including the international number she did with George Michael, Knew You'd Be Waiting. Even the video was filmed transcontinental.

As a teenager in the 80s, a few things brought the great Aretha Franklin to my attention (sadly, it was not the UK radio stations playing her anthology); namely, the 'Blues Brothers' film (Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, et. al.), 'I knew you were waiting' (collaboration with George Michael), and this gem, 'Jimmy Lee'. Again, not played much on the airwaves UK-side, so thank you for this download, and thank you KZbin 🎼👏🏾🌟❤
