Fantastic!Exciting! Much edgier and gritty than 3 dog night. Love Argent and only now have I come to appreciate Ballard.He went on to write many songs for others.He is here a fantastic performer

I love Three Dog Night and have only heard their cover before, (didn't even know it was a cover). Argent's original here has an edge and anger to it that Three Dog is lacking. Thanks for sharing!

this is a hell of a good video. Great music from the seventies. Yes, I agree 44elisdad, you can tell the world is turned upside down today. Plus this group should be revalued. Too underrated, they're fantastic musicians, all of them. Argent is a great keyboard player and Herrit a great drummer, not to mention the great song-writer, singer, guitarist. Russ Ballard.

He wrote and performed VOICES, which took off when played on Miami Vice in the 1980's, so Russ did in fact got famous from at least one of his own songs.

Love 3 Dog Night's version. But this version has a lot more punch! A harder, rockier feel to it. Russ Ballard was a talented song writer. Check out "Tragedy" by Argent.

This original version puts Three Dog Night's to shame. The band is simply better. Lead vocal here is not consistently on the same level audio wise, but, being a lifelong TDN fan, never cared for the screaming vocal they turned in. Thanks for the post!

The Three Dog Night cover version came out on their album Naturally in November 1970. You mean those dates?
