That can't be a simple mistake, it was too obvious for the linesman to not see it (unless he doesn't know the rules but then what's he doing as a linesman in a world cup final?). The little things that nobody remembers but could have changed history when Germany then drew the game at 2-2. Argentina were by large the better team in 1986 and won it deservedly.

And what a team that Belgium had in those days too with Ceulemans, Scifo, Gerets, and Pfaff in goal.
