Hi, Gemma. Appreciate the video and advice. I’ve used The Ordinary’s Argireline 10% for probably 2 years, at least. Very pleased. I’ve not tried the Matrixyl as yet, but think I’ll add. I also use Timeless Vitamin C which is 20%. I’ve always used it first, The Ordinary’s Caffeine around my eyes, then the Argireline. So, you’re saying skip the Vit C until evening??? Hmmmmm, as long as I get my dose, ok!!!!!

If you use a Essence after you watch your face and let is soak in. Then put your other stuff on. The essence plumps your skin so your other products go into your skin.

In the morning I apply Argeline first because it’s a water based product. Next, Dismistase, again water based. Then Maysama -moisturer, -SPF. I haven’t yet applied a cosmetic foundation to see if it accepts it. This is new to me 😜😜😜

Hi Gemma, thank you so much for this video. I have just ordered the argireline and the matrixyl, totally understand the application for them now to add to my routine of 3:1:3 days ratio of am cleanse, wash, damp face, hyaluronic acid, vitamins c+e+f serum, moisturiser, sunscreen. Pm same till after hyaluronic acid, then niacinamide, moisturiser. Three days of that. On fourth day am is same, pm cleanse, lactic acid then moisturiser. When I start using the argireline and matrixyl, once they've dried can I spritz face with water to continue my normal routine, (if I need to use a toner or similar can you please give me a recommendation as I don't use that) I'll obviously not be using them the evening I use the lactic acid. Have been using Argireline with Matrixyl for about 6 weeks now, in the morning and have really seen a difference. Between my eyes, crows feet and forehead - although main forehead lines are much harder to treat. I won’t be without it now.

Thank you for the info. I have had this product for a while and have used it with the acids not knowing. It would be difficult to incorporate this into my routine everyday if I listened to the ordinary. I often go to Paula’s choice for good empirical data. The ordinary was warning not to mix the acids and niacinamide for the longest time. Paula’s choice uses niacinamode, vit C and retinol together to get better results. I wonder if the ordinary is protecting themselves from customers overdoing or are they right which would make Paula’s choice wrong?

I think they’re just being over cautious so people don’t hurt their skin with too many active products. I use Argiriline with all my acids…Glycolic, Lactic, Azeliac, Salicylic, and The Ordinary vitamin C, without any problems whatsoever. But I could see how this may sting and burn someone with sensitive skin. I think people just need to slowly check it out, and see how their skin reacts

Hi Gemma, I already ordered my argireline but I use CUROLOGY at night that contains Tretinoin 0.14% Azelaic acid 5% and Niacinamide 4% do you think it's OK to use it with the argireline since there is no way that I can separate the Niacinamide? Hello, Gemma! You are one of my original KZbin favs! Anyway, I realize this video is several months old, but fingers crossed you still may see this. I very recently purchased my first order of Argireline 10% from The Ordinary. I think I maybe one of the "luckies" whom it works quickly for. My question concerns combining vitamin C. Are you aware why it is not recommended to use with Argireline? Do they cancel each other out? Might they produce an unwanted effect? I'd love to know as I've been using them both in my a.m. routine and would like to continue doing so.💕

Helpful as always and I was glad to see this more specific focus as I had already watched the ‘5 things’ video. What I would like to ask is this: if your main wish for argireline (or in combo with matrixal) is to work on smile lines (very happy ones, 😉)/around the mouth is there really a point? You mentioned this area as being notoriously hard to treat. I have tried both, I gave up matrixal for soon to be ‘multi-peptide serum’ aka buffet (thanks for that heads up) as it contained matrixal and you get other benefits with it. Maybe I was impatient but I didn’t see a difference with argireline and stopped it as well. I’ve been streamlining skin care after during Covid binge. So a long winded way to ask what you think (btw, I’ve now been using Tretinoin for 2 months - thanks to you - with some irritation but I also am seeing a difference with 11s which, oddly enough, were not one of my biggest concerns. I try to adhere to your ‘Mickey Mouse’ face instructions- loved you for that!)

Like I said, it’s a difficult area. If you’re expecting miracles you’re going to be desperately disappointed. If you’re serious about streamlining your products, leaving in only those that you’ll see huge differences in the smile line area, I wouldn’t be using argireline. Xxx

Call me crazy but I like topping off Argireline and Matrixyl with the Multi-Peptide+HA (formerly “Buffet”)😅. I know it may not be necessary but I like sandwiching them for the extra boost. I only use them in my night routine.

Buffet contains a small amount of Argireline and Matrixyl. I think its best to purchase separately though, as it is far more potent than what it is in the Buffet. You can then apply another serum over the Matritxyl and Argireline such as a Centella, a Ceramide serum, or even the Buffet after them.

You can use argireline and matrixyl AFTER you use a red (or blue) light device. The only serum you should be using BEFORE red light is a green tea serum.

Very informative, I'm about to order The Ordinary serums but if you're using the tretinol on top of them (spelling?) who has time in the morning to wait 20 minutes for everything to dry before applying makeup??? Great video…however I have a question. My routine when using argireline goes like this. After washing face I use HA, Buffet, Argireline, squaline and moisturizer, and I give it some time in between. By using this routine, I find I have pilling when applying the ordinary moisturizer. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you so much!
