Don't know what kinda chains they use, but x-rings chains would be a great upgrade. You can also upgrade axle bearings, and use marine grade grease much better imo.

Dirt Trax apparently knows nothing about Argo's machine. Yeah they float, when tracked they can go through a lot of skeg. Downside is the absolutely insane amount of maintenance. For every hour of driving it you'll spend 2 in the shop fixing the damn things, from broken chains, or hubs, or axle bearings. Great news too is if you break one of the drive chains you're stranded. I've spent 10 years in the oil patch driving these nightmares, they're bought because they're the cheapest thing out there for amphib vehicles. (at 27k canadian)

I run an older 8x8 Conquest for moose in really nasty places. It is a beast but you gotta know how to use it. The one improvement I would love to see is a change to a hydraulic drive instead of the traditional CVT & brakes to steer.

My cousin use to have one and my brother use to drive me in it but it’s a maintenance hog yes there fun but they take a lot of maintenance it seemed like it was always getting fixed

False. We own an argo. 2007 8x8 avenger and it breaks all the time. It is dealer maintained and driven maturely. Yes it goes everywhere, but it does break.

I had a massive stroke in 2014 that paralyzed my left arm can you ride one ☝🏼 of these Argos with one ☝🏼 hand 🤚🏻🖐 ?

I was wondering why they don't use o-ring chains if they are so good about what they do.

Could this thing get from Greenland to Canada? What's the maximum mileage you can get on one full tank? If I wanted to drive from Greenland to Quebec, could I do it?

while they are fun and versatile they are not industructable. If you ride a lot of rocks (northern Ontario) forget about being able to float across a lake or anything deaper then the intake because the rocks bash the bottom and it sinks... or will if you cant get to shore fast enough.

No the Fat Truck is definitely the king. It makes the Sherp look stupid. I know. I own them both. I also own a Argo. They do break a lot.

If Polaris ever brought the Polaris Rampage to market it would force Argo out of the market. Check it out it's amazing.
@spyke123able5 жыл бұрын
I'll take a SHERP any day over even the Rampage. Tire flotation is superior to any track system!!!

I don't understand why ARGO doesn't put an actual suspenision on their vehicles. They just don't want to invest in the engineering, i guess.
@christianwelch21137 жыл бұрын
I don't think you can because each side is Chain driven and maintains the same angle so it's virtually impossible
@hillbillysceptic19827 жыл бұрын
Motorcyclyes are chain driven with articulating suspension. If Argo doesn'tput the work of engineering in, someone else will. I bet Polaris could make an awesome amphib.
@offroadbros71757 жыл бұрын

Argo is a dead man walking at this point! There an ancient design that is being surpassed by not one but multiple other designs that are vastly superior. Doing minor upgrades to their old design does nothing to stop the inevitable destruction of their company because they stopped innovating long ago.
@WilliamStewart15 жыл бұрын
You say that but their sales exploded the last 5 years. Try to find an amphibious vehicle for 25k, the governments and large companies gobble these things up because of their utility.
@mrpush28555 жыл бұрын
What multiple other manufacturers of these are there that r paasing argo up? Muddox? No they wont even answer my sales email. Max? So out of business. The aluminum one? Not hardly, at 30k. Which r u talking about exactly?

So your trying to tell me that a trak vehicle isn't as good as this unit, I'm going to call you on that, I would like to see your channel put a trak vehicle against your ARGO, pound for pound a traked unit will out due your out dated toy...(Russian built will due fine)
@WilliamStewart15 жыл бұрын
Tracks suck on Quads and Side x Sides. Unless you're on snow, they make no sense.
@stevennault54475 жыл бұрын
@@WilliamStewart1 , I understand how a track wouldn't work on a quad, but it excapes me your reasoning with a side-by-side, please explain...
@WilliamStewart15 жыл бұрын
@@stevennault5447 The only benefit is the flotation in snow. They are heavily reduced gear wise cutting your speed down to more than half, and rocks and such get stuck in the sprockets which rips the track up. Then there's the harsh ride, poor mud performance, and bad turning radius.
@stevennault54475 жыл бұрын
@@WilliamStewart1 Not to correct you, but I thought the trak ran by way of the tires, not a sprocket mechanism, and the units always had strange turning geometry...
@WilliamStewart15 жыл бұрын
@@stevennault5447 I thought we were talking about side x sides? To me an argo is an argo and a side x side is a side x side.
