He understood their hatred, and rather than hating back, he used his insight on how these people think to make his mission a win. He made his piers understand it, the 6 embassy members. Same way FBI profilers work and give that insight to help catch them. Hating them won't matter, understanding how they think does matter.

I remember when it first came out in 2012, this was simply the best movie of the year. Ben Affleck should have won a Best Director Oscar but he wasn't even nominated. Bad call Academy.

Ben Affleck should be ashamed of himself for this distortion of history....taking the credit away from the true hero, Canadian Ken Taylor.

This trailer should be the base standard of how to make a trailer without revealing too much but still arousing interest in the public to watch it. "Dream on" completely amplifies the trailer !!!

"Dream On" by Areosmith, and I think it's the use of that song for the last minute that really makes this an awesome trailer

I'm really surprised with the fact that The trailer had the OG Dream On song i mean the point at which it starts playing should've made me serious and excited about the movie but instead brought a smile on my face ...... Anyways time changes things.

Ben Affleck went from being an ok actor, to a really amazing director. Gone Baby Gone and The Town were each a masterpiece. now I hear their talking to him about directing a Justice League movie.

Yet another ' Americanized ' movie which is not only factually wrong, but gives the Americans undue great credit for what actually happened, much like ' The Great Escape ' movie. Were it not for the courage and work of the Canadians, these Americans would never have escaped. In addition, the C.I.A. screwed up the visa dates. The Canadians caught the errors, and fixed them.

Mike12522 Believe me, lots of movies based on true stories bend the truth, including The Social Network
@wcnmvp38206 жыл бұрын
While that's true, this was based off of the actual save itself, and not what was behind it. So, technically, the movie is factually correct as they got the story from both the CIA and Tony Mendez, just to make sure the facts were correct. We don't deserve as much credit as the Canadians do, but we do deserve credit for the save itself

I fell in love with Ben Afflecks character in this film. Although I realise there were other characters who perhaps did not get the credit they deserved. War and politics are so filthy. The US is a wolf in sheeps clothing in my opinion. However, brave people such as these have my deep respect and gratitude.
