It was easy for Danny to not fall for it, since it involves very different circumstances. Vlad just wanted what his dad had in every sense, so of course he’d be loyal to his father over some rando. Vlad was constantly undermining his own success cuz of his own obsessive loneliness. Like in the Ultimate Enemy, he even admits what the problem was after years of rock bottom.
