Selectively intangible and can take carried objects with him, flight, invulnerable to attacks that do hit him (if still subject to seemingly increased knockback and some pain) This character would be on level or better than Savage's form of immortality, and a lot less likely to randomly be buried for thousands of years if he were smarter or just changed his methods. Fun Fact: In the late 1970s, Gentleman Ghost was established as part of Batman's rogues gallery, with him even taking part in a meeting set up by Joker to have all of the Gotham villains find and kill Batman before Killer Croc does. Since Gentleman Ghost was officially a Batman villain for a time, the _Brave and the Bold_ cartoon plays into this by not only having Gentleman Ghost be one of the more recurring villains Batman faces, but establishes Batman as the reason Craddock became the Ghost in the first place. It should also be noted that Gentleman Ghost (as well as Doctor Destiny) was at one pointed considered for _The New Adventures of Batman,_ which would have been his debut in the DCAU. Unfortunately he was never used until _Justice League Unlimited._

@justincummings855710 күн бұрын
I think it’s both a combination of what you’re used to when it comes to character design and the tone of the shows. Brave and the Bold is a love letter to the Silver Age of DC comics. It’s goofy, campy, and downright weird most of the time. It’s like the Superfriends from the 60’s and 70’s but with better animation and a respectable budget. So when things get serious and downright dark, you’re shocked even more by it. Caped Crusader, while taking clear inspiration from the Golden Age, was designed from the beginning to be dark and having an older audience. The writers could get away with darker stuff more often, and you’d expect that. You expect something creepy or downright disturbing to show its face.
@goblinounours9 күн бұрын
@@justincummings8557 But that's exactly the opposite, though. If Caped Crusader was designed from the beginning to be dark, for an older audience, they could've done something more creepy and disturbing with Gentleman Ghost. Mid-way through the Caped Crusader episode, I was actually beginning to expect a twist where he would turn out to be a Scooby-doo villain, just a dude in a costume using chemistry things to look ghost-like. That's how unimpressive he was to me. Had they actually tried to do something spectacular like Brave & the Bold did, with that trick of the ghoul-face showing up during a lightning, it would've been so much cooler. Overall, Caped Crusader was tame. I'd say even Batman TAS had more troubling visuals at time. Like Two-face's appearance, compared to his Caped Crusader counterpart... Heck, Nolan's movie, the Arkhamverse games and the Telltale game had a cooler/darker Two-face. Clayface was cool in Caped Crusader, but still far less cool and haunting than what BTAS did. When I look back at my experience watching Caped Crusader, all I remember are the efforts they put into pandering to the so-called "modern audience" (with ideas like Oswalda Cobblepot), rather than a show for older/adult audience, rather than what I hoped would be the second coming of BTAS for adults and with less limitations.

As a kid, enjoying Brave and the Bold, I liked Gentleman's voixe and demeanor. It was perfect for the show.

Love that he had a cool mechanical coffin to lock Batman in but still shovelled the dirt by hand

This episode of Brave and the Bold was the only one I caught on tv then I was a child... I don't engage with any superhero media, I don't watch tv anymore, it takes me a couple seconds to remember who exactly is Batman... But this ghost freak was living in my mind ever since... The concept is very cool and appealing... I even have him as a Lego Minifigure based on his cameo in Lego Batman Movie...

The conflict between heroes & the villains was what drew me to Batman Brave and Beyond
