This story was definitely unsettling, but i cant help but laugh at the idea of an adolescent bigfoot wearing a sundress. The neighbor said it had been wearing it for about a year, so they probably had multiple encounters with a sasquatch running around with a dress on. Thats hilarious

As many times as I've seen them with clothes on I couldn't help but wonder how they obtained them and my guess was right. The juvenile males appear to be partial to basketball jerseys and gym shorts. The one that stole the blouse might have been a female (unless they witnessed 👇otherwise if you know what I mean) but it can be difficult to tell the difference unless you see the genitalia because a majority of them do look masculine up until a certain age where they develop more feminine features.

I live in Arkansas on the slope of a mountain. With the exceptions of a few dirt and gravel roads, the land is untouched. I've heard people talk about being in the woods and everything going silent. With the amount of insects and wildlife, I've never found that to be plausible. On clear nights, my wife and I like to search for stars and planets, watch the ISS go by, and view cosmic events like meteor showers and comets. Recently, we were outside around midnight and heard a shrill, loud, piercing scream over the regular night sounds. That instant, everything got quiet. It was as if someone flipped a switch. I am familiar with our native species. The scream was something we've never heard before, but the eerie silence that followed was completely unnerving.

When I was around 12, I lived in a tiny suburban town. My development was on a hill surrounded by forest. I woke up randomly around 2 am and couldn't get back to sleep. After a while of tossing and turning I heard the most horrific scream from a girl I ever heard. My body became numb with fear. It came from around 500 yards from the front of my house. I then heard a single wack sound from the same area. In my mind I thought it sounded close to a baseball bat. The screaming immediately halted. I told my mom the next morning and she told me it was a dream. I still don't think so.

Yeah, it can be hard to credit how still the outdoors can get until you stumble into it. Fact is most humans do not register as a predator to small wildlife. To larger things, sure, but the small stuff knows they are not worth our time. That we generally do not bring our violence into their realm. It is those things that do that cause that hush. If you hear it you gotta be aware of your surroundings. Most predators do not want a fight but a quick ambush. Just becoming aware of what the threat is and showing it you know it is there, regardless of how much more capable it is, is usually enough to make it decide to let you pass by cautiously if you do the same. Also a lot of animals do make eerie sounds. Foxes are said to make a sound like a woman screaming. Not something I have heard but I have heard panicked rabbits when the local cats catch them. Until you get used to it the sound can cut through you.

@@Luv2Boogie So many ways you can poke holes in that though. She could just be a decent writer who spent time writing out her story, especially since she had 50 years to think about it and come up with interesting ways to tell that specific story. Vigilant might be a word used more often today but it wasn't a necessarily uncommon word in the mid 1970s either. It's also entirely possible she might have inserted a word here and there over the years as memory faded and her own lexicon changed. I'm not saying it isn't AI, just that the presence of that word in her story or the semi-professional style doesn't seem like a solid argument to me.

Yeah, not a believer in Bigfoot, but if they exist, nothing in this story seems strange or unbelievable. Even the angel statues makes sense to me. If they're anywhere near human level intelligence (as seems to be the case if any of these sightings are legit) then it makes perfect sense that they'd be as interested by the striking and fascinating image of an angel as we are, possibly partially BECAUSE we are. I'm pretty incredulous about the cover up though.

Encountered one in salt lake state park. Near dark, too far in the woods to make it out before total darkness. Felt something watching me, stalking me. Woods went completely silent. I threw a couple rocks and sticks, to try to stir wildlife (bird, chipmunk, anything)....not a sound. Something in my gut told me to run now! I put my 3yr old son on my shoulders and ran for my life. The days proceeding this I found 3 footprints, “nests” and what I can only describe as “choke points/kill zones”. The day prior my son screamed monkey and pointed up in the trees. I watched him (he was 10-15yds away), he seemed adamant there was something in the tree. I walked slowly to him, but couldn’t see anything. We’ve never went back, and I won’t without another adult male with us, or a firearm

Something strange but also almost personifying about this bigfoot story is the idea of it collecting knick knacks' from houses as well as playing with and laughing at a porch light. The 12 angels statues also give me a "It found this object and liked how it looked so it kept looking for more." type idea. Although having the picture of the girl as well is extremely unsettling.

Let’s assume they are breathing living creatures. Primates like collecting stuff, birds like collecting stuff, hell some fish do as well. If this occurred, it probably liked the safe and then just started taking more and more of them, starting probably with the biggest, as it would be outside. It was then trying to replicate this and burying them to keep them safe. Now the magnet was probably just amusement from repulsing effect of them, and photo is simply something it hasn’t seen and took cuz it saw it. But assuming Bigfoot was real I would expect them to steal stuff from people just like chimps do on occasion.

Reminds me of a time my sister and I were waking in the dark after dinner one day and we were at a dead end road that morphed into a dirt path in the woods slightly to the left of the end of the pavement. As we were approaching my sister suddenly started running, I thought she was messing with me and I yelled "what happened" or something like that, and she told me to look towards the left of the woods. Out of the woods was steadily moving, maybe a bit faster than a running pace (8mph maybe) a glowing sphere. It was maybe a couple inches wide, perfectly circular, bright but not illuminating anything around it. It was several feet up in the air, much taller than me, maybe 7 feet up. Not going up and down or shaking, it was moving in a perfectly steady line, right out of the woods, towards us. My sister claims to have heard a sound coming from it but I never stuck around long enough to hear it myself. We sprinted away, but I had to slow down to match my sister's sprint. After a couple minutes of progressively slower running we were back at a main street with lots of cars and we both looked at each other and were just so confused. To this day both of us maintain it's the most unexplainable supernatural thing that has ever happened to us.

@@MourningStar67In Alaska, there's many stories of hyperagressive and even murderous Bigfoot. Maybe the higher food availability allows them to grow bigger in certain regions, which in turn might make them bolder. But I don't believe the perception of Bigfoot as a docile and shy creature in general, regardless of region. The Native americans have tales of outright war with bigfoot clans, where they'd rip the heads of warriors clean off the neck with a twist. Bigfoot seem to have lost those, so the survivors apear to have learned that a stealthy lifestyle is in the best interest of their continued existence. But I don't expect a Bigfoot to show any kindness or sympathy to a lone hiker or hunter, not anymore than any other animal at least. Hopefully disinterest. I wonder how many cases of people who went missing in the woods, body never found but their items show up in far away locations might have something to do with Bigfoot.

And that shotgun shell hole in the doorframe highly accurate. Daddy was packing buckshot & let fly at close range IMO. Thats a hole created by the shotgun wad and the few large pellets. This only adds veracity to this odd, scary story. She described it perfectly.

I thought so too. It's an odd detail to include. Most people fully believe a shotgun at close range spreads like crazy and punches massive holes, which makes for a much more exaggerated story. But to say they were tightly packed, clean through? Exactly what would happen at that close of a range. Maybe the author is just ballistically knowledgeable, but for your average person, I think it adds credibility too, in a weird way.

I was staying in a cabin 4,000 feet up in the North Carolina mountains. Half the nights were almost defining. All of the forest creatures screeching until the moon was at its highest point in the sky. This caused extreme silence. One night I heard 2 things speaking back and forth. It wasn’t a wolf or large cat, it sounded like an ape. It was more of a primate type of sound. Right outside my window. I do wanted to bring my phone and get video evidence but I also did not want my ass kicked by 2 possible big foots. @akgaming7982 Bob Gymlan has done a video on cameras and how apes seem to interact with them. Its pretty interesting but if I remember correctly, the summary is that the apes who live in smaller groups are often much more cautious of new stimuli. The animals were actually so in-tune with their environment that some groups touched the cameras more times than they were seen approaching, meaning they were able to recognize the potential blindspots of the camera without being captured by it.

It’s extremely common for them to mess with houses. At least in rural areas. One thing that William Jevning often talks about, especially with the Type-2’s (Woodbooger type) down south, is they will slap/punch the side of a house/building trailer at night, and the reason that they do that, is to try and get an idea of how many people (if any) are inside. These things won’t hesitate to sniff around human property, as long as they know they’re concealed from view by trees/brush/large objects/etc, and they know that there aren’t large groups of people present.

William Jevning has stated in his books, that, at some point in the past tens of thousands of years, early human Hunter gatherer tribes/societies became so fed up with being attacked and eaten by these creatures, that they tried to hunt them down and wipe them all out. They assumed that they succeeded, so we mostly forgot about them. Hence, the shyest of the creatures survived, hence passing on their behavioral genetics.

Type-2 refers to the Chimpanzee-like Southern “Woodbooger” (the cover art of Danny Vendramini’s “Them and Us” closely resembles them, according to eye-witnesses). Type-3 refers to the “Gugwe”, which resembles a Type-2, but with a Baboon-like head (the Beast of Seven Chutes is suspected to be one). I grew up about 45 minutes west of Missoula in the late 90s, back up in the mountains of the 9-Mile area. Walking the one mile dirt road from our bus stop and my house always terrified me during the late fall to early spring because it was hard to see far into the woods in the dying light. There were times when you'd feel like you're being watched, and my mind always went to Bigfoot. We had black and grizzly bears wandering onto our property on a yearly basis. There were many instances of a neighbor noticing mountain lions in the morning when they'd let their kids walk to the bus stop. I can recall being woken up by the sound of mountain lions screaming their awful human-like scream in the middle of the night just outside my bedroom windows.

I grew up in Oregon and was followed by what I now know was a Bigfoot. It mimicked the number of my steps and also my speed. At that time, late 70's or early 80's I had no idea what followed me. I was horrified. And I have laid in bed at night and heard the mountain lions scream from up on the hill and worrying it might come and try to steal one of the foals. That was also a terrifying sound even though I was up stairs in a tall old farm house and safe. I think our fear of that sound must be genetic from back in the saber toothed tiger days. I probably would have died of fear if I had known what followed me or if the mountain lion had been right outside my window. Kudos to you for not going into cardiac arrest at that blood curdling sound so close.

I’ve had many encounters of all the known species that inhabit the area, but Bigfoot has eluded me! I remember going to church one morning and hearing our deacon tell a wild tale of how he and his family were camping by lake Geneva, and something was screaming and throwing giant rocks around close to them though. I heard many stories similar to that….. but for me the woods is definitely home. Sometimes a bear, cat, border patrol or forest service moron might disturb my peace, but very rarely! Makes me wonder how many people report their cryptid sightings ONLY to the police, and then those sightings are never heard of again.

This is horrific. My encounter was on a hiking trail in a national park on a family vacation when I was twelve, which is one thing. I've never been back and have no intention to. But the idea of one lurking around one's home, sticking their arms in windows, trying to get in...that is a special kind of horror that reminds me of the Fouke Monster. I can scarcely imagine the feelings of terror, violation, invasion and intrusion, and lost sense of safety and security that must cause. The reaction of the police here is as fascinating as it is disturbing. For a similar set of ongoing encounters that terrorized a New Jersey family in that same era, I highly recommend A.H. Verge's "Nightmare in the Woods." It's a harrowing read. Thanks as always for the food for thought, my friend!

I did. 1987 on a hiking trail in Rocky Mountain National Park. I was twelve and had wandered off from my family. I came to a part of the trail we'd already passed, and it was suddenly eerily quiet. I knew I wasn't alone and felt like prey. I didn't see anything until we locked eyes. I'll never forget his face as long as I live.

I know 2 separate incidents in Tennessee when a sasquatch took items from houses. First was in the 1970s, a small-ish one was seen with several items of clothing in its hands, it was crossing a road in the daylight and was seen by several workmen in a passing truck. The other was in 2010, a family had items taken from their backporch. This house was deep in the woods, with 2 large pit bull dogs that refused to stay outside at night.

This one has me a little freaked out. I have an off-grid cabin that borders the Beaverhead Deerlodge national forest here in Montana. we've owned it for about 8 years. I used to think that it was haunted. My wife calls it Crazy Acres! The last two times I was there just recently, I got a door knock at about 3am, the next weekend about the same time the doorknob was jiggling a little bit after I went out to get some firewood. There has been lots of other stuff too. But this is the first time that something has messed with the cabin.

It’s a common occurrence for them to slap the sides of houses/cabins et cetera in the middle of the night, in really rural areas like that. William Jevning has had many stories like that on his show. What they’re trying to do, is, get an idea of how many humans (if any) are inside the house. They fear us, but only in groups. But on our own, we’re an easy meal. And needless to say, all the trash that we leave around, and our pets/livestock, are easy meals as well.

@stoneylonesome4062
@stoneylonesome4062 11 ай бұрын
@@BoringLife-iv9lo Well, you gotta understand that these things do fear us, to a degree. They understand that humans are pack hunters, we get our safety in numbers, and that if an individual or two are attacked and survive, then more angry humans will return later, looking to retaliate. They also understand that we rely on tool usage, whether that be the primitive stone and wood weapons we used back in the hunter-gatherer times, or the firearms we use now. They also are quite curious, and do like to observe us. But please don’t let that fool you into thinking that these creatures are your friend and are gonna sing Kumbaya with you around a campfire smoking a big ol joint and teaching you wisdom about life. They’re apex predators. If you don’t believe me, look at the folklore from the various Native American ethnic groups, in terms of how they describe them. Especially the ones from the Pacific Northwest who have had the most contact with them (Haida, Salishans, Siletz, Tillamook, Chinook, etc). They paint a very similar picture of these creatures, and it is not a very pleasant one. Treat them with caution and respect.

@@stoneylonesome4062Even when a person goes mysteriously missing, many square miles of territory see organized search parties, ATV activity, helicopter or small aircraft in some cases. To take a human brings eyes for an extended period. Even if they aren't involved....but why bring the inconvenience on to yourself? I think they understand that.

What kept my attention was her details of her light switches. I lived in older homes growing up and I can tell that the old switches had heavy springs so they where extremely loud when you clicked them on n off. As I kid I use to do that to annoy my older brothers. It's pretty tough to make up a story with such accurate details.
