Respect William for saying you almost wanted to appologise to Ari. Yes music is a matter of taste, and this song (although I can relate to its message) is not entirely my taste, but Ari is a beautiful soul and such a fantastic singer. From first listen that live performance I knew that a lot of singers would struggle with the range that is needed, and Ari does it effortlessly . So whatever will happen, he will get some of my votes.

William and Deban are two face, lieing piece of shits, they do not deserve respect from anyone! If I could throw pag full of rotten eggs on William and Deban I sure would!

Well that is your opinion. I certainly don't agree. Of course they have their own tastes, and from the 43 songs, they have their own opinion. I respect that...and I even more respect that they do interviews with the acts they don't peticular like. I loved this interview with Ari, and I was hoping they interviewed him. So thank you Wiwi...and this time William.

This is what their job requires, they have to act like politicians and from time to time they have to say lies.

This guy is phenomenal. His voice is phenomenal ( the range, the warmth, he didn't even change the key for the a capella, he sings with the ease of speaking) but what is even more phenomenal is his personality. He's so genuinely warm. He says the spread the love things and they don't sound cheesy or chlisee cause you can actually see them rising from the depths of his eyes, he makes it so original and irresistible. This guy is a lovebomb. Only a heart of stone can remain indifferent. And i feel proud that i noticed these qualities of him since the very first moment I saw his music video. He's the perfect choice for such a song with such a message and i hope we don't have too much stonehearted in ESC audiences. No matter how many votes he'll actually get in so strong competition, his message definitely deserves to shine.

He is very handsome with an outstanding voice, probably one of the best if not the best live voice of Eurovision this year. I said, I have the same reaction as everyone else when Iceland chose this song, it's a bit cheesy and cliche. But it is growing to me and I hope he do good in Eurovision. Would love to see Iceland back in the final. Also he have big hands.

He's so sweet awwe, he melts my cold little heart :) I agree with William, hearing him talk about the song has made me appreciate it more and whilst I'm still not a fan, the song isn't bad - it's just in a very tough year. I do hope he enjoys London though, and I would love to see him hang out with Team Wiwi. Actually, he should totally become a blogger! I mean, hello, Green Room gossip?

He sang with Sissel Kyrkjebø? (pronounced more like SHU-sha-bo but I can't do a good approximation of Norwegian pronunciation) She is one of my alltime favourite singers. For those who don't know, she's from Norway and has had a long career there, and has appeared on PBS stations in the US as well as singing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. She also sang the opera part of "Prince Igor", with Warren G handling the rap, from a CD I can't recall the name of, but it was about combining classical music and opera with rap. The video is on KZbin. Most people know her best from singing the vocals in the "Titanic" movie, everything except for Céline Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" is sung by her. Stunning voice that can go from fragile and about to break one second to powerful, strong operatic notes in another. Check her music out, definitely, and she usually just goes under her first name, Sissel, a Norwegian variant on the name Cecilia. Now I have to find video of Ari singing with her...

If you search "Frostrósir 2012 - jólakveðja" on youtube, you will find a video of him and her singing at a christmas concert in 2012 in Iceland, when he was only 14 years old. I then went myself to a christmas concert in 2016 and they sang a duet there. Fantastic performance. It was not recorded, but if you google "Ari Ólafsson Sissel kyrkjebo harpa" and go to photos, you will see a couple of photos of them :)

Thank you for turning me on to this performance - such sweet and beautiful vocals from both of them, though Ari sounded really quiet back then. His singing has continued to improve though and you can tell that by his a cappella performance in the street; it's beautiful.

Ok, I talked about Sissel a lot in that last comment. This time I want to talk about Ari, who has a great vocal range and overall a great timbre to his voice. The song may be a bit on the dull side but knowing now how large of a vocal range it takes to sing it, combined with Ari's skill makes me want to reconsider listening to it. His vocals almost always seem ethereal, especially in his upper register, so there's no problem there, and the song has a very positive message. The song has its moments but I'm not sure if it'll make it to the final. If he puts on a great semi performance and the staging reflects that, then maybe..... No matter what the odds say, come to win, Iceland!

You see such a good voice wasted on a weak song 😣 I'm disappointed with Iceland this year Ari deserves a much better song than this ... the only thing that could possibly change Icelands fate this year is to sing in Icelandic apart from that this is not good enough and Iceland really needs to revamp their national selection or just start internally selecting musicians then give them like 3 or 4 different songs to sing .. hold a national final for that and let people vote for the most apropiate song . Because Iceland has potential but they haven't been pulling their weight enough in the last couple of years apart from 2016 and 2017 .
