A label can't make you a star like they did decades ago. The listener today is dumbed down and her style of music really doesn't have a place today. R&B/Soul as a whole is afterthought besides a handful of artists. Ari would've been much more successful in the 90's. No one on the label outside of Cole will be a superstar.

The pod did a great job of not discussing any of the real grievances that Ari addressed in that video. Ice and Parks tried to downplay her having to buy her own google adds. The label send money(that she will have to pay back) on the video for "smoke" and did nothing to support her after that. They didn't even do anything to drive traffic to the video. They gave her a huge debt and completely ghosted her after that. Also, Rod Wave fans were not interesting in listening to any soul singer. She low key gives off some diva vibes. I dipped out on her when she made a big deal about some soul train award she thought she should’ve been nominated for. And she wanted to be on the Rod Wave tour, got there and was like nah. I don’t blame the record label cooling on her because every time she gets put into a position, she goes on social media and starts ranting about something which then creates problems for the label. It just feels like to me she’s one of those artist who isn’t going to compromise on how she feels/thinks the direction of her music should go, which is completely fine, but then will talk about the industry doing her wrong for not doing exactly what she wants. She’s like the music version of Amanda Seales. At some point, a complaint is coming in the form of a social media rant that then puts her in a bad position because no one wants to deal with all that, and then she’ll be back complaining about people/industry not wanting to deal with her and blackballing her.
