On Israeli news they said that earlier (yesterday) was the yartzeit of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach.40 years.I met him at the Holy Wall 1972 right after Yom Kippur had ended.He and many Jews were dancing in a circle and I was not religious (though there I had gone to the Kotel)A wonderful feeling of ariving at home fell over me to be united with all the dancers and singers in joy.I was in my second year of the Israeli army.1 year exactly to the day Syria and Egypt attacked us on 1973 Yom Kippur.My unit fought in Syria. Today I heard a Torah lesson from Rabbi Shmuel Eliahu,Cheif rabbi of Tzfat and he said in the name of the Ben Ish Chai that a person who is on a ship voyage, and be was so rowdy that he was temporarily put in the ship's hold below, as a short jail sentence. The Rav said:Even if a person is not always doing what he should,but he is travelling on the correct ship to his correct designation, yet he be "off sides" on occaision, yet he is travelling to his right destination on the right ship and will get there.But if a Holy person is travelliung on the wrong ship to a destination he did not plan to arrive at, all his good intentions and deeds will not get him to his lifelong mission".kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJ6ynYyZoNCjh5o
