I use emulsify all the time. But i was also a chef for 20 years and am now a sales rep that sells apecialty goods to chefs. So emulsification is pretty big in my world. Chef from New Orleans here.

I’ve worked in the cannabis industry for many years on the production side. We use the word emulsify regularly at work referring to producing suspensions of cannabis in various carrying, or emulsifying agents, your explanation of soap was beautiful and succinct. I don’t know if that’s worth an x large hoodie, or how you’d get it to me, but I do know emulsify is part of my vocabulary , and that’s the truth.

As a child I was fascinated by ingredient lists, that’s how I learned about emulsifiers in margarine. So yes, I’ve used the word sporadically when it fits. Like when chocolate is stored improperly and has that white film of cocoa butter, since it doesn’t emulsify properly.

My profession is Non-Destructive Testing. One of the methods for testing welds is Liquid Penetrant testing. I learned the term emulsifier when I was in school for NDT in 2012 because one of the methods of Penetrant testing is using an emulsifier to remove the red dye penetrate from the weld or a metal casting.
