I started in the very beginning, and quit after chaos/Yata lock (was probably the only 9 year old with the full deck ran at 60 cards of course, my parents didn't have a lot of money but LOVED eBay so they ask jeevesed what all the good singles were and found great deals on them. I was terrible w the deck but it was SO much fun) and got in around DUA format which I was instantly hooked on. I still shudder how I felt when this came out. BOSH as a pack was so big I can still remember the insane amount of cards that came from it. The deck filled me with disgust, but looking back, this is hilarious to watch now that the nightmare is over.

Ssjason will never return because of this kind of stuff. For me I'm ok. It may take awhile but the game will get better. It always does. Then it gets to a crazier level than it's ever been. Then it will more or less balance out. Repetitive cycle. Only thing is, now once the game cools down I still don't see it going back to a "plus 1 first turn kinda game".

I think the problem with the current cards being made is that they don't have OPT effects. You can use as many Performapal Fire Guy and Ariadne, which can be abusable and IS one of the component reasons for Stratos' ban (aside keeping other cards on the list as long as it was off it) I see this upcoming format to be possibly the worst because it cuts out player interaction entirely. One is able to create a board that is essentially unbreakable due to the stupid amount of resources and versatility and utility all the cards have, as well as the powerful protection cards searched off of Ariadne. I'm not happy with what Konami is doing for this format. I've been playing yugioh since the game first started in the U.S. and I've been okay with all the changes, Synchro I more than welcomed because it gave your main deck the ability to use weaker monsters and use them as a pseudo-tribute summon to call out a synchro requiring a specific card, a tuner. Xyz was a lot like it but didn't have any requirements except for levels which is easy when someone can just throw in level 4s only and call it a day. I'm not saying I hate Xyz, I think the concept is great but too easily abused and not as well thought out as Synchro. Pendulum however. Having the ability to resurrect creatures infinitely with the exception of a few outs that are limited, mainly D Fissure and Macro Cosmos. Warning and Bottomless also work but again, limited. I dunno. I think the approach is terrible but the idea for Pendulum was fine. Having the extra deck not go above 15 would make it more balanced or the scales break after Pendulum summoning from the Extra would've been nice.

I think the only way we are really gonna fix things like this popping up in the future is something like a "You cannot special summon monsters on the first turn (or your first turn)". The once per turn problem has existed for a while and its really just the result of konami pushing more and more better archetypes to move product. The only real way to fix YGO's core issues would be something along the lines of a reboot

I think you have to run 3 Ariadne to make these combos more consistant, because if you dont open up with ariadne, you do not have that much options that can interrupt your opponent from otking you in the second turn. Especially against Mermail because most of the time, 1 notice or 1 Infinity is not enough, that means you have to draw into some of the countertraps.

I have mixed feelings about this :| These combos are so...you know...I don't have any words for this...But I won't quit Yugioh just because the new cards make many "older" decks unplayable because they're not good/fast/strong/consistent enough. There's kind of a natural selection in Yugioh. I mean, you can't play Gladiator beasts these days, even though they were tier 0 when they were first released. But they still can defeat Goat Control, a very strong deck from 2005. I think we should come out of our comfort zones and give the new decks a chance. The more I think about it, the more I feel like Yugioh is build arround Darwins theory of evolution. "Adopt or perish", and I don't feel like perishing already.

I remember when yugioh took luck and skill. You actually had to PLAY against your opponent not just search everything, plus 8 or more, set 4 counter traps and just negate whatever you opponent does. I really don't like the way the game is going. We need this game to become more skill based (reading your opponent, out thinking them 1 step ahead, and using bluffs if your drew badly) so it can actually be fun again.

This decks runs a lot fo bad cards in multiples. You base your comment on a few games where he opened with luster and ariadne and no traps against an AI with absolutely no cards. Soon people will main/side Anti-Spell, Wavering, Go&sr, MST and others for other pendulumd ecks anyway so this will be even less relevant than the better and more adaptive pendulum decks. You can find videos of Infernities still going +5 and Ynag-Zing/Zefra taht makes the same boards as this and yet those decks sucks.

If you don't remember, it's the field spell where if the player (Doesn't matter who) conducts their 3rd summon, it automatically becomes the end phase. this is fucking degenerate. performages were so badly designed. the pendulum mechanic can be done right, and it has been so far, but this archetypes ability to spam rank 4's alongside the dracorivals ability to just to, well, ANYTHING makes for some unhealthy gameplay. you should not be able to make +9/+10 of REAL advantage (not like infernity advantage) where you're searching out all the best counter traps in the game, summoning 3 different types of extra deck monsters, setting your scales multiple times and basically just winning in your first turn EVERY TIME. like what do you even do to the deck? like individually i cant even point out what cards had the obvious bad designs its just all of it conjunciton. limit luster pendulum, wavering eyes, flame mascot, pendulum wizard and THEN maybe the deck is fair.

I believe it is crystal clear to Konami by now that this community's majority is driven by the factor of addiction, which this games has created over the years. It is so easy to understand now (since konami has followed this strategy for several years ) that giving a tremendous amount of new card pool every some months and new overwhelming support/releases is what creates this vicious cycle. We all know that since full power PePe will be a thing around January, by the time of the European championship it won't be such big of a deal and certainly won't be threatening by next autumn (same thing like nekroz pretty much). And why do we know it? Because it's bound to happen with this strategy and will happen over and over again. My point is that it's up to the players if this game is gonna change anytime soon. Look at games with limited card pool, or limited community (weiss-schwartz, buddyfight etc), such hype there is just nonexistent! If we could just take the initiative and quit until this game is ummm maybe less money-consuming or just more of a game that what it is now, maybe just maybe we could achieve something. But then again, Konami certainly depends on the game itself, afterall addictive habits are not easily thrown away.....

They're essentially saying you HAVE to play this, magicians, or monarchs (?) to have any chance. Not minding it since I'm making magician specter, but this is just brutal. This Deck is broken. The only Deck they got good cards about this Deck is Monarch, because her Spellcard Dominsion and march of the Monarch. Great Horn of Heaven don't hurt Monarch really hard and Notice will block your effect, but your tribute Monster still alive, because your Spell. I don't wanna say Monarch is better, but just only this Deck got a Chance as other Deck to do something. They create new Support for Kozmo, so get a better Match up to PEPE, but PEPE will cancel every summon from Kozmo. If they wanna support a Theme to beat PEPE, they need to Support BlueEyes and Monarch more. People don't play FTK Exodia, because the Fairniss, but where is PEPE fair? I don't got a choice for anything, why don't use Exodia right now.

+DropsJ Monarchs are not better, unless the Mega Monarchs are summoned having March of The Monarchs they get easily taken out with solemn warning or they can simply play mirror conductor to flip their atk and def crippling them. With twister, rank 4 xyzs and archfiend eccentric in the deck they easily take out the field spell. The deck is tier 1 but it isn't beating pepe or stepping up to it.

After all those times yugitubers hyped things that actually aren't half as good as they thought, then please do yourself a favor and seek advice from good players. This decks runs a lot fo bad cards in multiples. You base your comment on a few games where he opened with luster and ariadne and no traps against an AI with absolutely no cards. Soon people will main/side Anti-Spell, Wavering, Go&sr, MST and others for other pendulumd ecks anyway so this will be even less relevant than the better and more adaptive pendulum decks. You can find videos of Infernities still going +5 and Ynag-Zing/Zefra taht makes the same boards as this and yet those decks sucks.

I agree certain cards are unnecessary, but the decks sheer ability to search out and summon multiple Extra Deck monsters per turn, while summoning monsters directly from the deck is indeed notable and should not be taken lightly. While side deck cards may slow the deck down, you cannot rely on drawing them even if siding in 3 copies because that is the nature of the game's randomization factor. Even if you side in 15 cards to counter the deck, there's still the chance of drawing into the other 25+ cards incorporated into the deck. Lastly, I did note how his hands were all ideal against a deck that never stood a chance. Honestly the Dracorival engine is the next big thing in r4nk.

Damn thats broke. I thought Ariadne's effect when destroyed only activated when it was in a monster zone. Yet for some reason rulings say it can be activated when destroyed by luster. WTF?

+AryuKoryu Apparently pendulum cards are only spells when in the P-Zone; they're monsters everywhere else. Which means mon effects that trigger when destroyed can trigger when destroyed in the P-Zone, since they're monsters when they've left the P-Zone and gone to the extra deck or graveyard. Making a few cards rather broken.
