Also blocking zones on either players turn didnt raise any flags during that design process. Makes you wonder.

Kashtira was made in response to their mistake of making tearlaments. Gotta counter the broken deck design by making another broken deck design.

Maxx C is only considered broken because of how broken the game got. In Hat format and pre hat formats, no one complained about Maxx c. Most decks had a way to play after getting hit with Maxx C, and the game was slow enough that even if you get Maxxed and can't make the most optimal board you could still survive and make a comeback. But when the game became one card combos into full board of omni negates and you lose because you didn't draw 3 hand trap 2 board breakers, and a one card full board combo then you lose. I can see why they hate Maxx c because it doesn't allow people to play solitare. That just shows the real problem is the game itself. Modern yugioh is trash compared to what it once was. Retro formats are where it's at. No one complaining about Maxx C. Like it's good against madolche but they can make hootcake and chill as a backup play. Old yugis was the best yugis. Now it's so broken people complain about Maxx C. The game is too fast so they ban cards that force the opponent to play a more interactive game. That's exactly what Maxx c always did. Prevent full combo and allow the player to try and interact to gain an advantage. The fact that decks today don't have back up plays after getting hit with Maxx because they are afraid of getting OTKd is crazy to me. Maxx C isn't and never was broken, it's the game itself.
