I dislike the fact that society only sees when you react to something negatively but then turned blindly to all the backlash she was getting just because some certain fans wanted a white woman to play Elphaba. This reminds me of when Hailey Bailey was announced to cast as the little mermaid. People were attacking her and others making edits of her to match the skin color of the original little mermaid. I don’t know if this is a part of their marketing strategy but I had a very similar dynamic in a girl friendship before (getting emotional when we look at each other, holding hands even tough we are both straight!?) and let me say this… they will probably end up as enemies. I was in a very vulnerable mental state in that period of time and I believed she was my biggest emotional support but in reality she was making me spiral more into that bad mental state. It took me a while (& therapy sessions) to see that. So if you have a similar dynamic with someone baby girl, just know it is NOT healthy and most likely both parties need therapy.

I had a thought about the illustration. The way Elphaba’s face is turned down leaning towards Glenda, there is an intimacy between the two. So a few things: 1. I think studios are starting to notice that when a cast does interviews and they have great, genuine chemistry then it makes audiences more inclined to check out whatever they are promoting. 2. However as with most things genuine if the Executives of Hollywood don't go down the path of doing the most then who would they truly be at their core. Basically the Cynthia x Ariana crying fest seems to be the perfect example of "doing the most" because they're clearly trying to showcase the cast chemistry between the two leads and push the narrative that this movie is going to be really impactful and significant etc etc so you must go see it right?. 3. Going off of my original comments in point one I'll give some examples: The Marvel movies cast, the One Piece series cast, the Tom Holland versions Spider man movies. Basically while not everyone is going to go watch something just cause the cast get along well it certainly doesn't hurt for the general public to see just how close everyone got while filming or how genuinely they loved working together. Even with my above examples I think this scenario has been around for quite awhile in the promotion process for many Hollywood movies. It just took the form of behind the scenes bloopers, or fun skits ft the main cast. 4. Pretty sure it backfired with Wicked but I'm also pretty certain it's core fans will still believe this weird cry fest, wtf is happening developing surface level friendship and continue to defend Ms. Ari and that other lady. 5. Random point: I hope people stop using the word narcissist or psychopath etc without understanding their true meanings. Sometimes people are just plain weird and shallow and fake and well they are actors after all. No need to label them with complex terms you probably do not understand. This comment is for the other commentators that will be quick to state the above with delusional confidence.

them needing to take breaks from each other isn’t really indicative of anything considering how much time they spent it would be even weirder and more toxic if they DIDNT take breaks from each other and considering when this person interacted with them they may not have been close in the beginning (which i highly doubt they were) but after filming this movie for 2 years and then revisiting the experience on the press tour it makes sense to me why they act the way they do. i do believe they’re close as all ari fans know she hangs onto her close friends like they’re accessories. it’ll be interesting to see if they’re still this way in 5 years. then that’s how you know it’s real like ari keeps liz gilles and victoria monet still around her

No one criticised her appearance, we criticised her lies about plastic surgery, which she continues to lie about! It is off of broadway where it spent years. Maybe they are trying to get the attention from each other. It’s just weird.
