Ariana's "put her vocals on top" to Mariah is the equivalent of Michael "i love you" to Diana Ross and Mariah "all hail the queen of Soul" to Aretha Franklin when they performed together. All were at the peak of their career but they couldn't help but loving and idolizing their idols. Young fans can't grasp the gravity of Mariah being on Ariana's record, but Ari surely does. It's not about the charts or the sales, it's about getting the divine connection with your source of inspiration and getting to directly give them the flowers they deserve.

It's fine, it's Ari's song, it's a remix, and Mariah is her inspiration. I still think the mixing, as the listener, is not very good. However, this event clearly represented something very special to Ari so I give her a pass on this. And now I know there's a valid reason for Mariah being so overly loud in the remix and not just a careless artistic choice or mistake. So apparently Ari just wants the song to be a tribute to Mariah whenever she herself listens to it. So it will make me appreciate the Yes, And? remix a little more from now on by knowing that.
