Danté Riccelli mariah had a lot of breaks on her career and she got 27/28 years of singibg ofc tgat her vocals wont be like before. Ariana has improved alot. If im not wrong Mariahs mom was classical singer and she was teaching people how to sing and mariah took some tips from her and that Mariah was classical trained too so thats why her technique is great. Mariah also has noduls Ariana doesnt and noduls damaging the voice.

Mariah's technique was always amazing (still is, since she supports now her mix up to D5, hv up to C#6 and lows down to F3) and she basically support her whole range, despite disconnect registers (obviously) and lows below D3 and Eb3. Ariana has a lot of advantages comparing to Mariah, mostly because she doesn't have nodules (yet), the thing is that she's a bit delusional. How does she think her singing is healthy? Wtf! She needs help right now, a good vocal coach.

3 years and this has definitely changed, her voices is better and healthier than ever, can still reach highs, while also reaching some new lows in her voice. Her tone, technique, breathe control, and over all execution is also better!!!

On a side note, I know that there's a lot of controversy with the word support but just understand that some people define it differently from others. For some, it's just engagement of the diaphragm. Enough air is being made to sustain notes, etc. However, others (like me,) have a much more strict definition: support - air from the diaphragm has nothing stopping it from being optimally used, eg no strain. support = healthy technique. IU: she's like a cuter version of ariana, if she valued lows and belts less. recommended song: Good Day Tiffany: imagine an ariana that struggled to mix. good lows, developed falsetto and starting to use HV. recommended song: I Just Wanna Dance (also would like to add Taeyeon here! recommended song: I) Demi: self-explanitory since most of my viewers know her well.

Zorah (i probably should have used her instead of IU haha) seohyun also supports quite low but is more quiet under G#3. she resonates more consistently and they both support B4 ish but she gets some C5s and C#5s occasionally. she also mixes super heady, maybe even more than ariana. her falsetto is very similar (stays relaxed quite high) but a connected head voice is seen sometimes too.

Yeah it’s rly crazy how much she improved in like the past 2 years. Chest: she can support down to G3 now instead of just G#3 Mix: easily her biggest improvement was made here. Some people may argue about consistency but Ariana can support up to E5 and she frequently carries partial support up to E5 and F5. She can keep a neutral larynx up here as well. Also, she produces resonance between B4-C5 pretty consistently. Personally I would say she’s consistent up to D5 but I’m not gonna be surprised when she starts supporting F5’s consistently Upper register: she unfortunately still uses falsetto over head voice but she’s gotten a lot more confident with her whistle register (see the positions album). She’s also started using her whistle live way more

Let me say one thing first, as a lot of others seem to have already stated: This video was brilliantly edited. The transitions were clean and clear, and there was not a hint of sloppiness anywhere to be found in the ten minutes. You do a hell of a job. Plus, as a fan of melodic singing (which Ariana has going for her) I was quite surprised to find out what you were saying, applied in context, was 100% true! As you mentioned each example of pro and con, you provided examples, and that made the amateur in me really see what you were saying. Hell of a job! Keep it up!

A lot of the science of singing isnt really fully understood, so even a professional vocal coach might not be able to help her. Arianas tone is much higher than the commonly understood ranges. So her high belts and and super head voice/mock whistles can slip under the radar and not be called out more quickly

2 years later and half of this isn’t the issue. Also a huge misconception is that your technique has to be perfect and flawless in order for the voice to last. Her technical issues are more of a hinderance rather than an issue. Her voice isn’t going to decline bc of it, it just stops her voice from sounding as optimal. She supports and mixes enough to stop it from being an issue that will cause her decline

as someone trained in vocal pedagogy I don't hear her voice deteriorating, mostly because it's not. Right now it is EXTREMELY consistent. She does have a lot of flaws when it comes to Support and her teacher she needs to find someone who isn't just a "I did vocal music for a year in college I know what I'm talking about" kind of teacher
