While, Ariana is getting all the praise, when she only sang Emotions on studio, and is quite unclear if she really did the powerful whistle tones with less struggles. Mori is only 19 yet she has the courage to do it almost perfectly while Ariana is 23 and still doing 6th octave notes on stage (w/ struggles) and everybody's praising like crazy.

Basically when she slides down but the note jumps back up an octave, she’s singing harmonics. It’s kind of like when the string bass player is only touching lightly on the string and moving his hand down the fingerboard without changing the interval. The same affect happens.
