I was in Dollar Tree the other day and I noticed they had a bunch of preschool activity books like tracing letters and numbers, flash cards and more all for $1 each. I'm not sure if that's something you could use with Rev but it looked like something kids would love. Just thought I'd share.

I'm excited to see your sensory bottles! I teach preschool 2yrs 9 mos to 4 and one of my favorite sensory bottle is with water and different types of plastic beads because depending on the density of the beads, some will float and some will sink. Also, look into Theraputty for fine motor too. :) It comes in different colors with different thicknesses that correspond to the amount of work you need to apply to it to make it stretch. It's like silly putty, but better for little hands. 😊

I love all your homeschooling videos. even though I plan on homeschooling at the traditional age mainly because my oldest is a slow learner it gives me great ideas of fun things to do with them.

Hehe, I mentioned orbies last night, I think, on your sensory bin video. Thats funny! I would get the bigger ones for Areie too as I have seen people make some great bigger sensory bins with them but I love that table. Its a sensory toble and regular working table all in one so thats great. And, of course, to make it safe for Aerie too. I still vote for connectic sand! Of course in the table so the Aerie can't eat it but that stuff is stinkin fun! Like a much better version of playdough!

I homeschooled some of my school years and it was one of the best decisions i`ve made, i could really focus on my work where as in school my classmates distracted me alot but good luck with the learning i`m sure she`s going to enjoy it and it`s going to be a great bonding experience between you two!

Great video! I'm a Primary School teacher in Northern Ireland. Our curriculum is child-centred; our learning moves in the direction of the children's interests but we also have core content to cover. So I'm interested in following how your unschool approach mixes with structure. Also, are you a trained pre/primary school teacher? If not, I'm keen to know where you get your ideas from!

I am just curious how do you make time to do sit down home school activities with Rev when you have a younger one running around? I have a toddler I would love to do some learning activities with but I have a 1 year old ( and soon to have 2 newborns) that will and do require so much attention.

He was in second grade and it didn’t work out. But he’s older now and I think he would do better now. I just worry about socialization because they do not have young cousins or family members. Sorry I hit send before I was finished lol
@ariannapflederer7 жыл бұрын
+Mandy George look into a homeschool co-op or enrichment program! Homeschooled kids being unsocialized is a common misconception. Especially if you’re learning outside the home, they’re constantly talking to all sorts of people. We are going to be putting our girls in an enrichment program through a church most likely, which is once a week. It’s obviously more of a proper schooling environment, and not taught in an unschooled way. But I think it’s important to socialization and for them to be familiar with a school type setting should they ever need to be put in one for some reason.

+Lindsay Kennedy I won't be making a separate channel 😋 I already edit three channels and put out 5-6 videos a week, haha. So even if I started a separate channel, I wouldn't put videos up any more often on it cause I just don't have time right now. It already fits perfectly into this channel since most of my videos are about motherhood/parenting anyways 😄 There definitely will be more homeschool videos coming though. I just haven't done a ton yet since we haven't really started outside of toddler homeschooling which isn't quite as involved to do several videos on it!
@lindsaykennedy50387 жыл бұрын
Arianna Pflederer I completely understand! You are such an inspiration to me as a young women who wants to stay home with her kids one day or integrate them into the early years centre I will be opening with our church when we get a building! I will keep my eyes peeled for more homeschooling videos! I've created a folder for future early childhood education videos, and yours are my favourite! I especially love how you create a loving and Christ centered environment for your girls. (Ps. I love all your wooden toys... I hope they still make them when I become a mom one day! If you are interested I also have a blog in top of leading in youth and children's ministry at our church in Ottawa Canada! I would love it if you could read it someday and offer your feedback ( I understand how busy you are so if you only read it in a year that's no biggie haha) God bless you and Ryan and the girls!
