The Cure is my favorite band of the 80's, also was my best friend's favorite band. In 2019 The Cure came to Mexico and I invited my best friend to the concert, it was sublime for us to hear Robert Smith playing his greatest hits 2 hours (me and my friend always dreamed of seeing The Cure live). A few months later he died in a motorcycle accident; I miss him so much, I feel alone without him. So, every time I want to be with my friend, I listen to The cure and remind all the great times we lived together talking, drinking and listening to this. R.I.P friend, someday we'll see us again.

I think this probably still has the record of the song i've played the most on bass in my life. I started playing bass listening to The cure about 13 years ago and i played this to death, like we're talking hundreds and hundreds of times. I still probably break into it like once a month. A good example of Simon's knack for standout yet simple and melodic bass lines.

Looking back, as a man in his 40s, it's hard to understand just what a massive part of my life these guys were back then. They influenced my clothes, my hairstyle; I wore eye liner and lipstick on a regular basis. My friends and I would talk about them all the time. I picked up a guitar because I wanted to be like Rob, and the first song I learnt was " A Forest". Do the kids these days have anything like this? Everything my daughter listens to seems to be towing the corporate line.
