Mike and Pru were humble about their accomplishments and donations to community organizations. We were in the same quilt guild for 14 years before they moved to Texas, and I've missed them so much. Mike used his longarm quilt machine to quilt the finished charity quilt tops without charge to anyone who needed his help. Over the years, they made and donated hundreds and hundreds of quilts to charities. Ariel Pointe is fortunate to have Mike and Prue!!

What can I say about these two special people. Prue is my sister and Mike is an extension to that love I have for her. My first quilting project began on the beach at Ocean Park, ME. It was one pieced block "Churn Dash", and I was hooked. I had a quilt that was accepted to be shown in the AQS Quilt show in Williamsburg, PA. Prue and I drove down to the show while I didn't take a ribbon, it was wonderful to see all the beautiful work. Then we did a sister's challenge. It was during the time when plaids/checks/stripes were in vogue. We purchased 1yr of a few of these and the cut them in half. We challenged each other to come up with a quilt for the VT Quilt Festival that following year. Prue took a 1st place and I took a 2nd. We didn't see each other's quilt until the show. When they moved to TN, Mike saw an advertisement for a Men's Quilting event in my hometown. They came for that event and Prue stayed with me and we hit every quilt shop in the southern VT and decided on a Di Ford quilt. Enough about Prue and me. Let me speak to Mike's accomplishments. Mike has been my quilter since the beginning of this journey in making quilts. I also joined them in charity quilts for cancer and surgical caps for the children's hospital. Needless to say, Mike and Prue have been a "Godsend" to many organizations that were in need of a "comfort quilt" for a dear friend, or for the military vet. This video was such a wonderful tribute to Mike and Prue. Even now their quilt room is still buzzing with two sewing machines humming, and closets filled with fabric/quilt books and like Prue said. "Quilts for their girls, when the time is right"
