It depends on what your definition of a friend is. A friend is someone that if I lost my car tomorrow I could rely on to give me a ride to work for a week. Or if I needed a place to crash I could go there and crash or if I needed a few bucks to loan I could borrow, etc. A friend is also someone I care deeply about and they can come to me and be vulnerable and talk about what’s bothering them or talk and have a genuine conversation. What vlad seems to be describing are acquaintances. I have those too. There’s people who I work with and when we work together we’re cracking jokes and having a good time but that’s it. He doesn’t know my family or anything past what I tell him and vice versa. It’s purely a business relationship.
