I'm saying based on quran and hadith. In the Quran, Jesus is taken to heaven by God, but no record says mohammd is in heaven, not even the Quran. So if mohmad is in hell then all his followers also maybe end up in hell. There are 26 different arabic versions of quran( u can google it), which one is real?, means it's not word of God. Mohammd has disobeyed all commandments of God, which means he disobeyed God himself. Mohammd has killed, raped, did child marriage, married his sons wife, owned sex slaves and so on. Mohammd drastically died from poison by Jewish woman, a very normal human. Even God didn't warn him and mohammd can't predict his future. Mohammd can't predict his own future, how will he predict his followers future? Jesus predicted his death and resurrection, that happened. Jesus himself said he is the Son of God. Jesus said he will be next to his father in heaven. Jesus has done godly miracles like giving life to dead bodies and many similar ones.

One aspect of Sanatani Dharam a.k.a Hinduism is liberal acceptance (Not mere tolerance of all beliefs). The reason why there are a billion gods is because, everyone's beleifs are accepted as right belief (Beleif as in belief in God or else lack of it). Even atheism is accepted. And Vedas are not "primary source" of truth, rather prescriptive collection of knowledge. Vedas never claim to be ultimate truth of everything. Its a philosphical journal describing everything from a philosophical perspective, akin to a science journal in which its done from emprical perspective.

That means science can neither be source of dharma nor truth. Vedas arent “like science”. A drasta “sees” the dharma, it is presented to him. Hence the source of dharma. Ref. Slokavartika by Kumarila Bhatta. Secondly, when you say Hinduism is liberal, it is not. You cannot bring in any religion and philosophy into Sanatana Dharma and say, let’s accept it. You can’t accept any darshana as long as they take Vedas as pramana( final) else no. If not who is stopping one to bring in Islam and say “since all roads lead to the truth”, lets make it part of Hinduism? Carvaka and atheism of the west are different.

For example, the concept of a never-ending cycle of time, the cyclic transition from nothing to everything back to nothing, are all philosophical theories without any empirical data to back it. And feel free to believe the way you want, afterall that's the philosophy of Sanatani Dharma - you can believe that you right and imagine that Vedas are equivalent of Quran or Bible - that is your prerogative. Veda by itself, questions itself rather than posing to be all-encompassing like any science journal that put forths a theory - no science journal shall claim that Big bang is sacrosanct - its just a theory. Go read Nasadya sukta of Rig Veda.

The British didn't coin the term Hindu, it was used for a long time, likely from Persians or Greeks which have long and continuous contact with Indian civilization. He mentioned that Hinduism is a collection of different castes practicing... what? What do they call their practice, what was the name of their dharma? Call it Hinduism or Indian civilization, there is a common link that connects and pervades the identity of everyone in this region, some common texts and literature, arts like yoga and music, system of medicine, and a culture of religious acceptance and karma. All this is shared between every hindu whatever he believes in one God or many or none at all. Hinduism is the ethno-religious and civilizational principal created in the continuous interaction and exchange of philosophies both from inside and many that came outside of India. Islam and Christianity are the only stubborn outliers...

Arif is someone I know of for sometime and I'm a fan of his sincerity, a rare thing nowadays. Perhaps that's why it kinda struck a nerve with him speaking so fallaciously...

Also if I may expand on Islam's journey in India... Islam in India didn't remain as "pure" and monolithic as in many other regions it spread many of which now count themself as Arab. In India even among the converted it has to adjust repeatedly to local sensibilities, giving rise to the so called "Ganga-jamuna tahjib" which was simply converted Muslims still practicing or respecting their ancestral culture and customs. Unfortunately organisations like Tablighi jamaat are destroying this and any practise other than wahabi Islam. Still there were many sects of Islam originating in India which successfully manage to create a more distinct identity of themself internationally. Among them is sufi Islam, influenced by the bhakti tradition of songs and devotion it looked beautiful on the surface but is very unholy religion the deeper you look, and shouldn't be touched with a ten foot pole... Other important mentions would be Akbar's "deen-e-ilahi", ahmadiya, and baha'i faith. While Akbar's dream was screwed over by his great-grandson Aurangajeb, who in his religious fervour abandoned all the moderating influences and returned to the extremist Islam (as it always won't to do with Islam and as long as people identify themself as Muslim ) and committed religious atrocities on Hindus population, thus bringing the end to the Mughal Empire at the hands of Marathas. Unfortunately the deep conflict it created in society at the crucial moment of arrival of Europeans left the country weak and ripe for takeover. Ahmadiya or Qadiyani sect was started by Ghulam Mirza Ahmed proclaiming himself as the foretold mehdi in the 19th century. It started as a reformist movement of Islam incorporating a lot of Hinduism (as the kalki avatar) and Christianity. In temperament it was quite a mild Islam and popular in northern parts like Kashmir. Unfortunately most of them decided to migrate to Pakistan (in consistency with their Muslim identity) where Pakistani President Zia ul-haq ( of Palestine massacre fame) completely outlawed their Muslim identity to a comical degree. Funnily Pakistan's only Nobel laureate(in science) was ahmadiya, so was Zia's own uncle. The Baha'i faith is just a hodge-podge of every religion, it tries to spread peace claiming all religions are true but just a cursory look in its constituent religions just breaks any hope of consistency in it. Its jumbled up philosophy also finds wealthy followers worldwide, enough to make many beautiful architectural temples world-wide like the Lotus temple in New Delhi. Luckily it doesn't focus on Islam so much nowadays and as such didn't gravitate to its radicalism.

Hi Rebecca you might find it interesting that it is Netanyahu who first identified India to be a long term potential friend of Israel way way back in 1990's. During those times our political environment isn't favorable to Israel because of our domestic politics of appeasing M uslims. But Netanyahu had the foresight. This was narrated by one of our eminent journalists called Shekhar Gupta (who runs "The Print" channel and magazine). Apparently Shekhar was in Israel and wanted to meet Netanyahu but he was very busy and couldn't find time until ~3 hours for Shekhar to board his flight. But still Netanyahu particularly called Shekhar and asked him to wait for him. Finally Netanyahu arrived and dropped him off at the airport and the meeting was held in the car on the way. It is very difficult for middle eastern mind to grasp India and Indians as much of the rest of the world, East asians see things that surprise them here in India, Africans never can make out what hindu is😊. Hinduism while a relgion, it is indianism too, it influnces anyone and everone who might practice other worship rituals. It is creation of a mindset, this mindset is very uncommon, you might travel to many parts of the world and not find that unique compsure and life view. Now coming to the passe hindu, they were never able to grasp the intellectual brilliance, they may practice a vodoo religion the westerners fear, a ritual life to see themselves as belonging to the top of class admired intellectual indian. In contrast to other muslims, Indian muslim may understand hindu better, more so the Kerala muslim. Long centuries ago the higher caste hindu married nubile beautiful muslim migrant girls (it must be noted Islam came through traders and merchants to kerala, not by the sword), these marriages would change both hinduism and Islam, hindu became more receptive of Islam, Islam would see hinduism as emancipating and fun religion. However this could lead to power struggles, it did when Islam became state religion in Delhi and sorrounding areas. In some parts, many under privileged people of India would offer their daughters or wives in marriage to these regular visiting muslim merchants, as these guys could not bring wives and kids alomg with him. This happened in many parts of India, lower caste kids of non caste muslim man. Interstingly,, muslim traders and merchants who would usually take a step back In honour of their hindu host. Al of it changed over night, when Islam became the power in Northern parts, it would change the mindset of few Islamists in Kerala too. They would no more take a step back in hinour of the Hindu host. But the children of Hindu men and muslim women would find it difficult to be polar, it was too hard to convince them to become polar. Islam would always have these non polar kind of muslim. Many East Asians in Malaysia or Indonesia , do not see thenselves as tied to tight rules as in Arabia/middle east. Women might never agree to it. Islam in East Asia was not adopted in East Asia through the power of a sword, it was the muslim merchant class who would influnce the local, more so when he is colourful and the locals too simplistic. Now western guys wanted many Muslim nations to be allies in the past, their earlier militaries were on par with muslim militaries, or some muslim milateries bear the western armies black and blue. This century, a time when a western army can anhilate a nation in 3 days, their need for ally is no more pressing. They want to defeat Islam to establish western leadership or establish a top class of local who are uncomfortable with old world Islam. This is same kind of soft sell of Islam, it is seen as good by some people. It encorages better give and take. It may even give woman stature they never had😊😊. Arif is good ex muslim intellectual, there are far better than him in state of Kerala. Arif seems to believe the populst infornation sources as true. He should investgate better. Hinduism is being made into weapon to resist rational forces of India and from elsewhere. Their phobia is they might lose their domination. They want to contnue ill treating common man. Many anti india fforeign guys may want a fiefdom in Inda than a fair rational rule😊. World is a dark place, they want to ill treat common guys, from west to east. Rebecca seems better than most in attempting to understand old world India, our fame to claim is just that, our present is dark, seems getting worse and worse each decade.

The description about Hindus by Mr Hussain is false. All Hindus worship Shiva, the ultimate God, the supreme one. The caste system was exploited by British. The binding thread of Hindus is Vedas, Ramayan and Mahabharata. The Hindus are inclusive not because of any compulsion but because of the core nature of Hindus religion.
