he(Watari) is one of the unnoticed gem in this anime. he knew from the start that Kousei liked Kaori first sight and persuaded him to try (even though Kousei told Kaori likes Watari), he knew also that Kaori actually like Kousei and persuaded him to meet her with him at the hospital saying that he was the only one who could satisfy her. in the mid of the anime, he actually liked Kaori genuinely as can be seen in 1. when he says he would even eat dirty water for her (but knew Kaori wanted Kousei ) 2. when at the end, his phone background picture is him with Kaori. he was not what some people saw in the surface (just like how he cried in the toilet after losing the soccer match so noone can see him) he was a gem that is unnoticed
