A compilation of "highlight reel" matches by the famous Japanese 3rd strike player, Deshiken (弟子犬KFG). Although he has not attained the same level of stardom in the West as Daigo Umehara has, Deshiken has been a strong contender for the best Ken player in the world for a very long time. Sporting his trademark green Ken, he exhibits a supremely aggressive play style that (most likely) is terrifying to encounter, but always exciting to observe. His impressive display at the recently contested 10th cooperation cup (which his team won) suggest he is very much at the peak of his powers.
This video is intended to be a 15 minute highlight reel, with emphasis on:
1. Full matches. Not just isolated clips or rounds.
2. A wide range of elite opponents. Not just an extended set of games against the same person, or walkovers over less talented players.
3. Tournament/competitive play, especially Tougeki/SBO. No GGPO/casuals here.
Guide/summary:
0:07 - Deshiken (弟子犬KFG) (KE) vs. Mester (メスター) (YU),1st Cooperation Cup, Early Rounds (2002)
2:44 - Deshiken (弟子犬KFG) (KE) vs. RX (UR), 4th Cooperation Cup, Quarterfinal (2005)
4:11 - Deshiken (弟子犬KFG) (KE) vs. Hitotsume (一ツ目) (KE), 4th Cooperation Cup, Grand final (2005)
6:24 - Deshiken (弟子犬KFG) (KE) vs. Hirai (平井) (KE), SBO3, Quarterfinal (2005)
8:02 - Deshiken (弟子犬KFG) (KE) vs. Matsuda (松田) (YU), SBO4, 1st Round (2006)
10:08 - Deshiken (弟子犬KFG) (KE) vs. Rikimaru (力丸) (CH), Babanpaku, Rest of Japan All-Stars vs. Tokyo (2008)
11:39 - Deshiken (弟子犬KFG) (KE) vs. Boss (ボス) (MA), 10th Cooperation Cup, Semifinal (2012)
13:15 - Deshiken (弟子犬KFG) (KE) vs. Rikimaru (力丸) (CH), 10th Cooperation Cup, Semifinal (2012)

I didn't name Daigo out of fanboyism or anything like that, it's well known among 3S players that he would get crushed by top players nowadays, both because he doesn't play much and because it's evolved a long way since his heyday. I was just using him as a point of comparison - when people people think "strong 3S ken player" they immediately gravitate to him, when in reality Deshiken probably has a stronger case for being the better, if not best, Ken in the world for quite some time now.

It's an option select. Blocked normals give less meter than normals that hit. So for Ken, if he has less than 1 bar, there is a sweet spot at like ~85% meter where if he does low forward and it's blocked, he will gain only a small amount of meter so he will not have super. But if the low forward hits, he will get more meter than if it was blocked, causing him to obtain a super. Thus at this sweet spot, a Ken can low forward and blindly do super without having to confirm since the super has no chance of coming out if the low forward is blocked or parried. So at higher level play, you should observe the enemy Ken's meter and if he is below 1 bar and is at the ~85% meter sweet spot, you can bet your ass a low forward is coming.

My facts are straight, Daigo and Nuki both won games on the way to the final, and Daigo won the very last game to take SBO I swear you Daigo haters are much worse than Daigo fanboys

Prime daigo defeated all the greats who traveled to Evo single player 2003 and 2004 except for k.o Yun. Resume includes. Prime Nuki, kokujin, young mov, Raoh, ino, Absolution UK single player: izu, ino again, kiyomatsu. Notice all the players I've mentioned have won sbo and or coop cup multiple times in some instances. In 2004 old school Kuni ST Zangeif player said tournament daigo 3s is much stronger than casual play daigo. It was what daigos peers came into agreement with. Kenomichi. Rusty Nuki demolished prime Desiken. In the interview Nuki said he practiced like he was going to fight a prime daigo. Except prime daigo had nukis number in 2003/4. Nuki himself wanted a rematch with Daigo. Which daigo wisely declined as the game had evolved too much since his 2004 prime. Spellmaster J retired after winning a few sbo's came back to commentate a year or so later and was shocked how much the meta had. Changed. Not many people all time could take games off k.o Yun . Daigo said if Desiken was a Tokyo based player. The street fighter land scape could be very different. In other words he would be a genuine threat to daigos and tokidos legacy abroad. Desiken also said he quit 3s to play sf5 . But like kuroda with sf4 and 5 Has yet to make any headway into the game like the 5 god's of fighting have bar Nuki. Desiken is the most offensive fast and flashy. Has been amongst the best Ken players since day 1. Shame he never went to Evo USA or any other country. Winning MVP at coop cup 1. Daigo didn't even enter. F knows why. His homies tokido and Nuki did. Desiken my fave ken all time. But don't disrespect daigo like that. There were many years he would go to countries an win or place top 2 in multiple games despite his stellar Japanese contingent who specialise in one game. At b4/5 USA Vs Japan 5on 5. Daigo finished each round iirc with a dragon punch. If that wasn't a teabag. I don't know what is.
