Whitesnake - Here I Go Again - Modified MIDI BACKGROUND. I would like to point out one very important thing, I didn't do any real mixing, but I limited myself to correcting all the notes of the midi, and adjusting the volumes of each sound, leaving the original reverbs and delays of each sound intact, clearly I replaced some sounds, with the Kontakt, Ample Sound and Toontrack libraries for drums, leaving the sounds almost unchanged, using only a minimum of equalization. This is tuned dow too low to give it that nostalgic kick that it should have delivered & sad to say Reb's solo here is crap compared to John Sykes'. Just a massive disappointment. Even though I was a HUGE fan of his tapping technique & tone in Winger, it was off with Dokken & it is even more so with Whitesnake. IMAO It was very distasteful to blur past Sykes' original tasteful & well thought out solo notes with Reb's signature flashy tapping! Even Vai approached these solos with a respect in keeping the original solos fairly close to authentic even though he could have NO DOUBT did this mechanical speed demonstration that Reb Beach did, but WAY better & with that amazing magic that Vai is known for... But for the most part HE DIDN"T, because Sykes' parts are near perfect!

Completely agree! I always liked Reb Beach work with Winger but he's having a hard time nailing Sykes solos check all concerts its the same shit all the time. Funny you mention Dokken because I felt the same way from the 99 concert he played rhythm flawless but overplayed almost every solo with excessive tapping and whammy masturbation. Sykes made WS an international mega band.

XAK Most of Whitesnakes songs are de tuned because DCs voice is fucked. Its a pity but alas thats the reality of things now with Whitesnake . With regard to Rebs solo , I think its a bit extreme to say his solo is "disrespectful to Sykes, it's different thats all.
