Ronnie Dio had an amazing vocal range. A human voice really should not be able to do what he did with his voice, when he was in his prime years. Even at this age and his health not good anymore, he was still very good.

My friend had bought tickets to the final Slayer, and while Slayer didn't hang out in the Forum club, Scott Ian and Charlie Benetante (sp?) of Anthrax, King Diamond, some big dude from Testament, and Aquaman actor Jason Mamoa all did. No, not Dio, and over the years have met quite a few others including all the members of the Eagles, and even Sean Mendez, lol (that was for my daughter's sake).

I Dee Jayed his nieces wedding at the VFW / American Legion Hall on rt 13 he was a good man gave his niece away and was just one of the crowd. For a surprise I dug out a track from his ELF days and played Hoochie Coochie Lady for him and his wife, they were so surprised to know their DJ (me) saw them at the stone jug in Hamilton, NY in 1971 and he hadn't changed a bit just a regular guy. I'll never forget what a big heart beat in his small frame but to me he was a giant talent that was taken too soon.....May he find a place in Rock "n" Roll Heaven, Godspeed....The N.Y.
