Why should Dangote cut a deal with marketers at the expense of the Nigerian public. The people that need reassurance are the Nigerian people. Rufai you are completely wrong hear. You cannot be talking about transparency, corruption free space and be asking Dangote to settle marketers, NNPC and the rest agencies against the people and the Nation at large. Truly if this government and in particular the President does not publicly speak and fire some of the heads in NNPC and related agencies, then he is behind all these fraudulent and wicked happenings in the Petroleum sector PERIOD.

Exactly. The bottom line is people will go to any length when their money flow is threatened. We cannot continue to appease this insatiable minority who care nothing about the masses and would abandon this country to greener pastures in seconds.

The problem with us in Nigeria is that we love to talk. You all come on Arise News and join in the conversation and spew all sorts thinking you've done something. Imagine Rufai advising The Dangote Group, lol. What a joke. If this issue mattered to Nigerians that much, why not besiege the offices, and dare I say homes, of your political representatives and demand that certain individuals be removed from office, or at the very least demand transparency? Protesting on social media and elsewhere will not achieve anything. I've said it multiple times, much as I'm a fan of Dangote, he is no saint either. Unlike the others, he has legitimized himself over the years. However, we have to keep in mind that The Dangote Group remains a private organization and should not perpetually receive government benefits. There is enough room for Dangote's refinery plus more. Nigeria is not the only target market.

The mentality of some Nigerians are that if they are not getting a piece of the monetary action they will make it difficult for anyone else. That's why you see businesses like Airpeace and Dangote Refinery and even small businesses, will always have problems with Nigerian administrators and officials who will always throw in hudles and obstacles in any large or Small investments in Nigeria and may even go as far as demolishing the business. Nigeria needs patriotic leaders who will clean up that corrupt system.

Dangote refinery should be of nation pride and interest until NNpc can get Nigerian own refineries working.Dangote refinery is different from the cement business,he should enjoy monopoly,a natural monopoly that has happened until NNPCL and others can build refineries that compete.Importing pms so that dangote does not become a monopoly is stupidity of the highest level.Even America,the home of competition fight and protect microsoft monopoly on computer operating system.America fight and protect Apple and google monopoly on phone's operating system.Do you think other countries can not build better computer and phone operating system?America would not allow it,protecting their own companies.Fighting to import pms so dangote does not become a monopoly,creating jobs abroad,sending forex abroad is stupidity of the black man mentality.Dangote refinery getting crude before one barrel of crude is exported should be a matter of priority and national security until NNPC,bua or anyone else can build a refinery and be the competitor..Thank you.

That is assuming the president is not the one behind this. The marketers messing up with the energy security of the country should be sanctioned, not appealed to,

Let Dangote felt what exactly what he did to Ibeto....Dangote and the government has been dinning for a longest term...
@ATBData2 ай бұрын
@Emeka, Pls lets be informed! Dangote never did anything to Cletus Madubugwu(Ibeto). Back in the years the government called Lafarge, Ibeto & Dangote saying importation of cement and bagging in Nigeria is not sustainable, as its carting large vol of FX out and no nation can prosper that way. The solution government proffered was for the 3 importers to go and set up factories. Lafarge adhered, Dangote adhered as well... but Cletus went ahead to continue to import.. Years later Lafarge and Dangote completed their factories and started production. The government found out Cletus(Ibeto) was still running importation, which led to the government withdrawing his license of importation. And by that time he already ran out of time, and the manufacturing players had already moved on. This was the reason Cletus Madubugwu Ibeto was cut off. Pls let's be guided with information we are ditching around.

Ibeto was only packaging (bagging) not manufacturing cement in Nigeria. Nigeria cannot afford such kind of importing and bagging cement. Lafarge and Dangote manufacture cements and sell. That is sustainable. Kudos to Dangote cement that broke the monopoly enjoyed by Lafarge for a long time.
