Greetings Ari! I sometimes work with a singer / songwriter as their arranger, which includes my notating of some parts; and as their producer in recording sessions, which includes my tracking of some instrumentation. On the SONG side: When my arranging of parts is not for hire, I request by written agreement a percentage of the publisher share (not more than 20%).

Hey, thank you for the super useful information! I was wondering when you split publishing with the producer, say 80/20 and the artist (me) has the 8% ( me) has to pay 100% mechanical royalties , how would that work? N is that the standard contact where the artist pays 100% mechanical royalties at the statuary rate ? It’s the standard beatstars contract where is says anything recorded under the master is called “ controlled composition “ n the artist has to pay the 100% mechanical royalties at the statuary rate, so I was wondering does that goes off of your publishing % when registering it? Thank you!

Hey Ari! Jfanell from ANYvidual, Thanks for your content I’m a chapter into you book! But I was looking for a video on registering your music as a group. We split royalties relatively equal between 2 top liners and producer but we’re releasing as a duo group with the group ANYvidual registered as business entity there fore I am coming to a cross road while signing up. I am not sure how the business entity needs to be registered. (Aritist?) or do only the members need to be registered. (Song writers?)I may be very much be overthinking. Some one please help 😅
