I'm loving playing this game! This is a really well put-together video that I've been showing to my players as a way to explain things. One thing that was omitted was that a player gets to draw a tactic card immediately if an enemy character is sent to the infirmary.

I think that Mantic Games did a real good job making a future sportsgame Dreadball in the same universe as Deadzone, Warpath and they make good(maybe better use) of those hexagons.... But nonetheless, this also looks very cool.

I received the game today for Christmas as a gift. I was reading the rules and I stopped when I read that player A attacks player B with a ranged attack, player B also deals dmg to player A if he has a dmg symbol. Wtf? How? I had to read it twice to be sure it wasnt a mistake. I came here to check this. It would be the first time a game implement such a weird rule
@TiJaNe73 жыл бұрын
We usually houserule it to: If Attacker (Ranged) attacks for more than 2 spaces, defender (with only close combat attacks) will change its "X" symbols to shield symbol (e.g. the sword strike helped him to block the attack/bullet). As it makes no sense that a sniper bullet attack max range vs Shield user causes the sniper character to die ^^
@andysmith64413 жыл бұрын
@@TiJaNe7 don't forget page 5 of rhe rules reference: all characters have access to a Contender which gives them a 1-8 ranged attack (even if not on their card) so the return fire damage makes sense.

To be honest I was hoping for such game from Corvus Belli: in the Infinity universe, but simpler and more straight forward and without need to paint the figures. What we have here? It is quite close... we have complete plastic figures(so one don't have to glue them) and rules seems very good(I have read the instruction) but... there is always BUT: I personally HATE the hexadome(it feels like cage which I presume was intended) and this "sport"-like feel. So how would look my dream-game right now? Putting this simple: - Infinity universe, - going back to war, not some stupid MOBA or sport-like "something", - the rules could be similar to Aristeia!, even though I really like those movement buy measurements kind of thing, but that would be impractical probably, - puzzle-like board pieces - like in i.e. Star Wars: Imperial Assault - so: more complicated sceneries would be possible, - so: campaign part of the game with good stories, - of course skirmish part(as main one), - very important: painted figures! (if SW: X-Wing can do it - others can too, right?) of course there could be an option to buy uncoloured models - for those who have time and skill to paint them(and like it...), - would be nice: adding something like resources/base management meta game - parallel to skirmish fights going on or between campaign missions, (maybe something like bringing resources to base, so one can produce better weapons or get better skills?) That would be perfect. I would buy EVERY figure and every expansion for such game - EVER! And going back to Aristeia! - probably I will buy it someday... but I really don't like this "crowd in the cage" feeling... :( I know it was specifically designed in this way, but there is no sense of adventure, new and changing environment like in real fights when one almost always have to improvise! Something that is present in games like Infinity(I presume, because I so far only have read the rules for it), Imperial Assault and others. Wishing You BIG luck with this game and going back to waiting-for-NEW/NEXT-Corvus-Belli-game state of mind!

Thank you for your comment, we will take note :) :) We are very sorry because you don't enjoy Aristeia! :( :(
@piotrp67937 жыл бұрын
To say I didn't enjoy Aristeia is to much:) I really like rules, graphics and universe of corse(Infinity). To rephrase my last comment in more positive way: I'm waiting impatiently for Aristeia expansion or 2nd edition that will allow me to play outside of hexadome with modular board - back on the futuristic streets or landscapes of Infinity, fighting for some very important info carry by the spy of my enemy faction - or something like that (more meaningful, not so crowded). Add to it possibility for buying painted figures and that probably would be the best game... ever:) Good luck!

@@piotrp6793 Some excellent ideas. I thought the hexodome was kind of bland and perhaps restrictive as well. I'm not opposed to it entirely, but it would be nice to have more variation in the arena and perhaps mote variety with some actual 3 dimensional terrain pieces to scatter around the board. Play outside of an arena would definitely be great too though. I see alot of potential for this with expansions in the future.
@solodragun6 жыл бұрын
@@piotrp6793 Would like to add, I love the variety of these models and though I don't have as much time for painting as I would like, I find the opportunity to do so as one of the more enjoyable factors of tabletop model gaming.

@@solodragun In time between my comment and now I have bought the game. Simply: it is great, strategic, dense! Must have for any tactican/strategist:) But I still would love some "outside hexadome expansion" :)

Why must everything use special dice? What happened to the good old 4+?
@DavidRosillo7 жыл бұрын
Belisarius Cawl that it was not enough to do what we wanted. Having symbols allow us to have more information in a die rollo without having to use tables or having to roll several times per action :)

I love the use of special dice. It's more creative and ultimately more intuitive by often negating the necessity of having to constantly reference various charts and tables.
