I enjoyed the reality of this video. No rider is perfect and obstacles will present themselves. With at least two riders, you can overcome quite a bit. Well done!

Looks like a blast. Love the laughter. I have a 2021 V Strom with a 1 inch lift. Was thinking it may be okay until those really rough spots. 🙄

It's a beautiful ride. You could always turn around at the creek.

Cool video! I'll have to check this area out sometime next spring....but I'll take my Yamaha WR250R.

Wise choice. I'll take my 790 next time.

Watching these guys abuse and wreck a 20 thousand $$$ bike is the exact reason I ride either a KLR or a Royal Enfield on trips like this !

Glad I came across this video. I am riding Rug Roads to Copper Creek this winter on a Kawasaki KLX250S. The lighter bike will be quite nice. Thx guys!

Rug road is way rougher than this part.

Can you not do a sidestand pivot on a dirt glide? Would have saved you both a ton of effort and energy. Looks like a really fun side trip though. I'm going to have to check this out.
@CrookedRavenAdventures2 жыл бұрын
I suggested it. Dr. Josh vetoed.

Sidestand on the PA is bolted to the case, and too far forward to get the bike to pivot.
@newenglandscrambler22622 жыл бұрын
@@MeerkatADV I figured that might be the case. I've only ridden one for a day and I remember the sidestand being weirdly attached and quite short.

Consider getting a used smaller displacement dual sport bike and developing basic off road riding skills...it will pay off in the long run. They're easier to pick up in case you go down, and they're a lot more fun. Those huge ADV bikes are just too big and heavy, especially if riders have little off road skills. Watch Itchy Boots and you'll see how she rode solo from Ecuador to Alaska on a humble Honda CRF300 Rally this year. I own a 2017 KTM 500 EXC-F and a 2022 Yamaha Tenere 700. I rode the New Mexico BDR earlier this year on the KTM, and off road, it flat-out dominated the Honda Africa Twin, BMW F850GS and Honda XR-650 on the ride, but I'm a dirt rider. Granted, the Africa Twin and BMW handled the pavement transfer sections better than my KTM, but the KTM held its own on the pavement. Hence the reason why I bought the Yamaha T7...it's a legit middleweight ADV bike that is superb in the dirt and is more than capable on pavement. A heavyweight ADV bike just isn't for me. Still, I hope that you guys are having fun on the trails!

Great trip and great video. Would love to hear more of the live sounds and on trail communication rather than music and mostly voice over. It’s. More immersive that way. Still great job.

Hey, thanks for the feedback. That was actually the plan. A recording hiccup only got me half the intercom chatter so I had to improvise. Look for your ideas implemented into the next one

I feel for these guys in early 70s had a KLR took on a lot of rough trails now to heavy bike to pick up, downsized to wr250r a lot more forgiving when picking up keep going for a few more years Great video thanks

Love trail riding, and mostly alone so I know how much harder riding off road with a bigger ADV bike is when they go down and your by yourself (while being at best an intermediate skilled rider)…so I never thought of owning anything larger than a 800 cc.
