My mum got her first jab back on Friday. Booked as soon as she was contacted. No noticeable side effects, which we were worried about. I got a notification to isolate for 10days on Saturday. Even though I mask up before leaving the house until I get home, sanitise before and after each shop and was out barely 20mins. It’s scary how contagious this thing is with people not taking it seriously.

Got the first dose of Pfizer on the 16th, no side effects except a sore/bruised arm. Scheduled to get the second dose on the 4th! A little nervous for the potential side effects, but I appreciate knowing what to expect in case I do have any. I feel grateful just to be able to get the vaccine!

It sounds similar to the Shingles Vaccine. I had side effects for both shots, but it was only for a few hours and I would rather have those effects than the Shingles again. I had the Shingles in 2018 and it was pretty awful. I am glad that you got both vaccine doses and I really enjoy seeing your updates. Vaccines are slow going here in Cali. I can't wait to get the shot.

I got my second dose of the vaccine on Thursday! I had a lot of upper body soreness and a headache on Thursday and Friday. I took ibuprofen 800mg and just rode it out. I went to work on Friday (yesterday). So proud of you btw 💜

Thanks for sharing about the vaccine. Anything that helps know what to maybe expect is a blessing. By me (ny) we are working on vaccinating certain frontline workers and the elderly, but I would say most people I've spoken to, especially younger people, are very hesitant, and it worries me

Hey Alyssa... thank you so much for all you are doing. I’ve been following you since the beginning. I’m from Atlanta GA. It’s been crazy here too. Quick question: How are the elderly responding to the second dose? My grandparents are about to get the second does next week and I just want to prepare them for the possibilities. Thanks

We're in Florida. Hubby and I are both vaccine trial participants and should be unblinded relatively soon and brought back in if placebo I think. Hubby had a similar reaction to yours but I just had a small fever and some tiredness. Our area is vaccinating 75+ but it seems extremely difficult to get a spot. Publix is handling the vaccinations and people queue up before 6am but it's rare that someone is successful in my area at least (from what I see on nextdoor). We have sent one of hubby's coworkers to the VA to try for a shot but it's a process just to get registered so no success there yet either. It seems like there are a lot of hurdles to get vaccinated here.

Does PPE change for you after you are fully vaccinated? Do you think your stress level will change at all being vaccinated or has your personal health not been one of your biggest concerns? Love all your videos and your bright and caring personality. 🥰🥰
@judyseggerman57243 жыл бұрын
Maybe the reason you got sick from the shot is because you are so tired. You need to get more rest !! I know its probably very stressful but you have to take care of yourself in order to help others. That was very nice buying the taco dinner and getting your coworkers coffee. I donated some money!! Covid is still bad here in Northern Indiana, they have had to cancel several vaccine clinics because there are no vaccines available..people are very frustrated. Hopefully things will start looking up soon. Take Care and be safe!!

Looking at your videos you’ve been to New York, Baltimore and now you’re in Arizona - are nurses moving around the country to help with the shortfall due to Covid or is it just something you’re doing?

Just found out my neighbor passed away with Covid. I was supposed to go get my shot last week because I’m in dental. But, last week they canceled me. I am supposed to go to Tampa Hospital but, they are out of Pfizer right now. Im so happy you are doing better! I have never had side effects from any shots / flu shot. Do you think my risk of side effects from Covid vaccine are slim? I’ll be sending more coffee soon! Yay!! I love helping! Thank you for being such a wonderful person and a wonderful nurse!

I go for the second dose (Moderna) on Feb 3. I've heard the same about the second dose. First dose just a sore arm so I'm curious how they second will go. My area only vaccinates healthcare and people 65+ or older. They are starting to reach out to other essential workers but there are wait lists. Healthcare get priority though.

Alyssa, as a travel nurse, do you feel that places where you’ve worked have more travel nurses than full time staff? The place where I’m working has more travel nurses than regular staff. At least I’m working with more travel nurses than normal staff. Is that the case with you?

Not vaccinating in the public yet I'm here in Oregon they're going on to teachers right now before they give it to the elderly which I don't understand I think the elderly and high-risk and my boyfriend is extremely high risk anyways they should have been the first along with the doctors of course the doctors and First Responders definitely have got their shots here but they're doing the teachers next and they said they're doing that because they know how many teachers there are and I still still do not understand why they're giving it to the teachers right now there's so many elderly and high-risk people that need it more and not only that like I have a psychologist that does all his patience he does over phone at his house and he got his shots and I don't understand that because his office is shut down except for doctor's visits until the pandemic is over no matter what so I don't know why they gave him his shot if he gets to stay home and does all his appointments at his house

My friend is a surgical tech he gets the rooms together and when it's surgery time he gets the doctor the tools well anyways he works Night Shift and it says so bad on your body it really is it's not good for you they say people who work night shifts have a higher health risk have a higher chance of having a heart attack and also getting in a car accident after work bunch of other things they say that you could have health problems from working night shift I just don't remember any of them so I hope you can get day shift for your health and Sanity and everything else
