No Tim, In this case that was not a typo, they were persecutors, not prosecutors. I watched a video of the trial and the judge clearly violated the constitutional rights of the defendant, setting him up for an easy appeal. The state was given 3 weeks to state their case, and the judge told the defense that because the case went longer than expected, they had less than a week to give their defense. When cross examining the lead investigator to show how badly the police messed up the investigation, the judge limited the cross examination to just 5 minutes, to which the defense attorney stated what all she wanted to have the investigator testify to, then the judge said you have 4 minutes left. I think the reason the state does not want to prosecute this case again is they don't want this case anywhere near an appeals court as the state also was required to step in when the judge violated the defendants rights, but they failed to do so.
