Great video! I'm moving to Flagstaff next month and can't wait to explore the backside of the mountain. I'm also looking forward to taking the AVY classes by Kachina peaks. Hopefully I can find a crew of people to ride some BC with. Those lines looked phenomenal.

@@raisingarizona13 I'm going to have to trade in my hardtail for a full squish out there. The flowy trails back east are okay for my hardtail but I need some more travel for the chunk out there. I'm excited to bike and board out there! Terrain looks fantastic. I've been following the weather in Flag since it came on my radar 3 months back, and it's sunny damn near everyday.

@@raisingarizona13 Your comment about things looking "pretty droughty" is over a year old: I don't know when you wrote it, but I'd like to offer a distinction that many overlook, because the media is leading in the misnomer. June is Arizona's dryest month, being before monsoon and in the heat of summer, so naturally, the landscape is quite dry during that time. There's a big difference between our naturally dry season, and "drought." Drought is an unusual and extended multiple-seasons without rain, ongoing. We shouldn't conflate our very natural dry season with "drought," they're not the same thing at all. We would all be wise to clearly understand this, and to speak accordingly. :) They've got everyone thinking that our naturally dry season is "drought" when it's not. That false idea plays into "climate change" when it's our natural climate.

Amazing footage man! I am so stoked to hit this mountain up and get that backcountry experience with still being in the ski-patrol/mountain rescue range haha.
@raisingarizona134 жыл бұрын
If you are actually skiing in the back country you need to be ready to self evacuate and not rely on others. The ski patrol is often too busy to search and rescue lost or hurt back country skiers.

Go look around Kachinapeak.org, there's a map naming the major avalanche paths. It's basic but it's a good place to get started. There's a lot more specific lines and chutes but it's more local type knowledge.
