Featured is an instructive chess game between Aleksandar Indjic and Arjun Erigaisi from the 45th Chess Olympiad Budapest 2024. Against Indjic's kingside fianchetto setup, Erigaisi deploys his queen knight to c6 and quickly strikes c2 with his minor pieces much like beginners frequently do. This plan of attack creates an inconvenience to Indjic's queen knight, and its this queen knight that stumbles throughout the whole game. Erigaisi's play in this round 4 game had a 99% accuracy, and it's a masterclass in positional chess.

a positional masterpiece !! The analysis is incisive but it's main charm is that it is presented without any drama or fanfare or other distractions. He gives our minds the silence to follow the moves and enjoy it.

Great analysis as always Jerry! You seem to completely read my mind when it comes to the side lines. You answer every question I have about the position, sometimes before I even realize there's a question to be asked. Fantastic! As always you're a step above and beyond the other chess analysis content creators. Not to throw shade at anyone, but you're the best. Looking forward to the next one.

Very instructive game! This reminds me a blitz game I played recently against an FM. The opponent kept probing with his pieces without fully committing to an attack. Before I knew it my position fell apart because he was able to take advantage of positional errors that I made. Thanks for the analysis Jerry!

Beginner play is tricky. Sure, you might end up in a worse position, but there's also a chance that you'll stun your opponent who got used to playing main lines, so one will possibly commit a positional blunder.

Stop criticizing the white knight on a3 just because Arjun went on to win this game. There is nothing wrong with the Knight on a3. Arjun wasted 2 tempo to achieve that, white can spend 1 tempo to get it back into action.
