00:00 Hello Everyone!
ARE YOU EVEN USING THESE?? (if yes, write "Anish is the greatest!" in the comments)
The 85th edition of the Tata Steel Masters is a 14-player single round-robin taking place from 14-29 January in Wijk aan Zee, the Netherlands. World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen heads a field that includes Ding Liren, Fabiano Caruana and teenage stars Gukesh, Arjun Erigaisi, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Vincent Keymer and Praggnanandhaa.
The time control is 100 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 50 minutes for 20 moves, then 15 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment per move from move 1. A tie for first place will be decided by two blitz (3+2) games. If still tied, the players keep playing single "sudden death" games where White gets 2.5 minutes and Black 3 minutes until one side wins. The monetary prizes will be shared evenly. I was wondering how did many of chess followers thought that King Magnus lost his ability to win this tournament. Or said something silly of the One such as (goat is back). Assuming that King Magnus drew those two games against Nodrivic and Anish, who would be the winner of this tournament. Those GMs who played against Magnus were definitely the best players in the world nowadays, however, they were playing defensively and taking advantage of the point when the situation in chessboard leads to draw. In the other hand, Magnus always accepted the challenge and pushed for win. This is why love Magnus Carlsen and consider him the king of chess.

How many times have we heard, "This has all been played before, nothing new here"? It's exactly why Fischer hated chess in his later years. He realized it had become little more than a Herculean task of memorization. It'd be interesting to know what chess game went the farthest without a "completely new game". I bet its over 25 moves.

If you select the most popular move every time in Lichess opening explorer, Masters database, you get a Najdorf with 95 games still following the most popular line after move 25. Sadly the opening database doesn't list most popular moves past move 25, so can't say how far we'd go from there before the last games diverge. There are also other variations with way more games in the same position after 25 moves.
