Not only do you have some of the best Ark taming tutorials, you're also one of the few honest Ark channel owners! You call a spade a spade and don't sugarcoat the failures of Snail Games and Wildcard in order to be their darling. Kudos! I think you're spot on with what to expect of Ark 2 if there is something of that title at all existing at this point. Probably they spent all on that Vin Diesel cameo and had to milk the ASE fans for ASA in order to engage in Ark 2 development in the first place. If there was anything unique they had already, they would show it. And finally with pay2win "fantastic" creatures and premium mod paywalls to servers, they'll destroy the tiny community of the few Ark players who gave ASA a chance despite the ripoff on the ASE community for good.

Idk what it will be like, but I think based on the info available it would be cool if it was like a 3rd person real time strategy game. Your player and hostile tribe will be on opposite sides of map to build bases and tame dinos to play an AI version of PVP.

Indeed. They keep pushing back their release road map. I predict they're going to be able to make it to release all the maps and certainly are going to scale back on what they deliver. Right now, the community is doing their work for them in premium mods and that passive revenue is what is the only thing allowing them to barely tread water even now.

If it comes out, I dont even think it will have so many features as you think. I was actually just thinking a more primitive version of ASE, with only half the dinos, more focus on primitive combat with. I dont even think that the hostile tribe will be out at launch, it will properly be a feature for the year after. And most of the dinos we will see, are just re-reskinned versions of the ones from ASA, with very few new mechanics. Thats what I think, I dont expect very much, at this point.

I don't follow development very close, so I had no idea they were going for a souls like design for ark 2... I honestly don't think ark 2 being a souls like will end well, I've always been a fan of the freedom ark gives you, no quests, no bosses, just an island some fists and the freedom to explore how you wish. ark is and always has been an open world survival craft game with dinosaurs, that's its entire appeal. I don't really see this ending well, especially from snail games with how short sighted and money oriented they are. I'm not saying it'll be a bad game of course, but I'll definitely be holding my wallet shut until I see some reviews of how this mashup of genre's will mesh together.

I can't remember who is the actual creator of Ark, whether it's snail games or wildcard, but their best course of action would probably be to see if they can have Microsoft help them to continue the project. Have it released on game pass and use everything they've done to create a new game. Ark is such a great concept and they did very well with ASE, so there's a lot of potential with the concepts they've already developed. They could come out with different survival games or even just other games with the vast maps of Ark. I personally would be looking out for anything they came out with, with hopes that it would live up to fun that's been had in Ark. A lot of hopium, but wishful thinking, nonetheless.

I love Souls games so I'd be excited to see the possibilities, but at the same time I totally agree it will probably be Soulslike in only the most basic way. That's if it ever comes out at all. I think at this point, Vin Diesel is going to have to pay out of pocket like he did for the animated series.

1:24 yeah I have no expectations, why would I support the team that plagiarized the Jumping Spider, charges us 60$ canadian for the same game but it runs worse, charges us 40$ canadian for either lacklustre to pay to win content, 5$ for the permit to tame one creature, butchered the Centre because of PvP exploits and more BS that I haven't listed or hasn't happened yet.

When it's unique boss fights there. It's unique landscapes was hoping for something like that. I'm not sure they can pull off Elden Ring combat in a rushed, low budget release of Ark2. I think a reskinned Conan Exiles in Ark's style is likely more realistic for Ark 2 given what we know. Back when they announced Ark 2 was going to be third person, have souls like combat, quests and open world. I immediately thought Conan Exiles with dinosaurs. Both Ark and Conan Exiles are built in Unreal Engine, hence the similarities and would be easier for the devs to reuse ASA assets into its less complex third person combat, boss encounters, questing, and tribe encounters style. Plus it's extensive in-game purchases model of selling skins will be something Snail Games will go for.

To be honest: I don'tcare about Ark 2. Right now I'm playing every story map on ASE and after that I'll try ASA on my new computer (RTX 470, 32 GB RAM, etc.) but this won't happen until the next 1-2 years... Maybe they have fixed most of the issues until then.

I tried ASA when it was free to play on steam for a weekend. If anything I wanted to see how my PC handled it. After playing a bit, I thought "wait, this is just a shinier version of the game I've already played for years, do I really want to do this?..." *uninstall*. With all the extra IAP/PTW/Mod costs, glitches amongst the list you have mentioned, I am so glad I haven't purchased ASA. Oh wait, still can't afford to buy PC parts to play it in the first place. Still happily playing ASE. Single player, no stress, runs ok. As for Ark 2, no thanks. The system specs will probably be needing a quantum pc by the time they release it...

Most of the revenue they're earning at this point is from the micro transactions of the premium mods and even that isnt much. They're in serious financial trouble and just frankly its not sustainable. So just as they've kited much else to date, they're also kiting the inevitable demise. Most understand, including so many youtubers that used to cover Ark lots, that Ark's best days are far behind it at this point.
