If you want to get even more advanced, you can turn mutation numbers in the ancestry negative by breeding until you get above 2.1 billion mutations (only takes 32 generations or so) then the number flips negative and it treats it as a fresh line as if it was 0/20 on both sides again. Worth doing if you're planning on pushing mutation cap (255 points in a stat)

Hello and thank you for this in depth breeding guide part 1 and part 2 that you have made. You have brought incredible clarity to this guide that others have failed. Genesis 2 launch has now increased max dino level cap to 500 and maximum level ups of a dino to 88. Lets say 498 for safety. 498 - 88 = 410. Through breeding and mutations, you do not want to exceed 410 dino level before any level ups. For now anyway, subject to change in future patches at Wildcards discretion.

*Really appreciated and well detailed tutorials...* I watched many others but they are so used to breeding that they explain it for themselves and it just makes it hard to understand for someone that has no idea. Showing the process on each generation slowly gets things on your head and clears any doubt, Most of this was converting a female mutation into a male mutation then I was wondering what happens if you get male mutations in a row, then you showed it. This is such a long process that the possibility of any little mistake is overwhelming. I'm so glad I found this tutorial. it cleared many things.

This is by far the best mutation breeding guide I've seen. Can't find anything missing. 👍 Just recently I noticed I can't reverse breed a base line, which I accidentally lost. But that's not that big of a deal, it's way worse to wait for another day to get the next egg on official settings. A little bit discouraging when you say it took you months. I should target for 20/20 late 2021 😂 But like I said, it's the best guide ever!

Have always given up in the past with trying to mutate and breed dinos, the frustration of trying to figure out the differences between Matrilineal and Patrilineal.. Just at the beginning of this video, but as a suggestion: You can also just use a mod called Super Spyglas. You will have to manually catalogue (or make a screenshot of) your dino, but I found that the ARK Smart Breeding App is not always accurate either; especially when you don't have full control of the server and its settings (i.e. when you are playing on a private or official one). I.e. it often gave me the "I can't scan this, restart the server for accurate settings or change the things in this app."... even WHEN I put them in manually. So, yeah, Super Spyglass is a wonderful thing

Great video. You covered alot of things that most people don't put in a video. One thing I'd like to mention, that I have not personally tested: I read that although normal dinos get 73 levels, the X dinos get an additional 15, for a total of 88 levels. So anyone starting anew, use Genesis X dinos. On my current unofficial server, the admin altered the dino xp level from 73 to 216 (crazy I know.) Anyway I tested under these circumstances if X dinos still retain the 15+ over normal and the answer is no.

Another great video on this! When getting a female with the desired mutation, I usually let the parents continue to mate and make new eggs WHILE I grow-up & breed the female to get a male version. Sometimes, I find a male with the mutation faster, sometimes I convert the female faster, but I like to do both options at the same time. IF the female gets fully grown, and gives birth to a male with the mutation I want, then I'll stop the breeding at that point, so the gen-0 female mating timers are ready when it grows up.

Oh, one other minor tip to add to your video though: when taming your low level rexes to down-breed movement, etc. It helps if you punch the knocked out tame until you get the taming effectiveness down to 0% so that you have better odds of getting a desired low stat.

There's a mistake in level number in your video at 1:09:25 You mention there should be 449 but it shows 499 which can make ppl slightly confused. Overall very good guide. Your video's are awesome, i've learned alot from them. just 1 thing i'd like to add tho. for the backwards breeding i think it's better to let the good low stats breed together first on the stats that u need, or just create a level 1... then when you breed it with the final dino, you have more chance on having multiple low stats that u need. that's something you can do while raising ur top level dino's

This 2 part guide is definitely the best guide online. I breed for a mega tribe, and everything was done really well. The only difference we have is that we don't start with individual chains, we just breed into any mutation for any stat we're looking for at any time, and breed our male seed with low level females for almost the entire process. I wonder if this way is faster in the long run.

The advantages of chains are that you get the first 20 mutations on each additional stat faster, you can breed chains in parallel which saves a lot of time and you can choose the exact number of mutations in each chain before combining them.

It can save you on time in a sense if you break it apart into chains because you need to keep in mind that once one side has over twenty mutations then it becomes even harder. However, because you are on official you have a limited amount of dinos that you can have on the server which is also another contributing factor. What dinos are you breeding I am curious?

You keep the colors you like, breed a dino with all the cool colors you want and then breed that together with the perfect stat ones until you get both the colors of the color one and the stats of the perfect stat one. Not that hard. Just takes time, as usual.

regarding the invisible movement speed (and all other stats), on pc, on modded servers or single player, you can use a steam mod like 'awesome spyglass' which will show you in game what the stats are, of wild and tamed dinos. and 'dino storage v2', which replaces cryopods, will show stats of tames, and even unclaimed dinos.

I stumbled across a beautiful purple rex in the wild and immediately thought back to your video. now I'm in my breeding pen filling fridges with rex eggs 😅 I have 3 females to start with, all 140 with the males being 150. now I have 40 eggs to hatch, 10 coming from the purple Rex's offspring that hatched instantly and was mutated with points into health, stamina, weight and damage. I saw that and immediately started her own line with the best male.

Can you recommend a video or written link that shows folks (me particularly) how to get the extended foundation support so we can build ceilings without pillars getting in the way, as you have. 2. May I ask what map and part of the world you have built in with such a lovely flat stretch of grasslands? Thank you!

Augustus of course. 1) I don't have a link but the thing you need to understand that as long as your have foundations below and they connect together then you can build walls up from the sides of the foundation and you should not have a problem with attaching the ceilings. Unfortunately you will come to a point in the buidling of Ark where you will need to have pillars somewhere at some point. The closest thing/idea that I can come up with is when Nooblets did his big ramp on ragnarok. It might help you. You need to be careful though as it is also a shared space with the giga spawn point. there are griffins nearby as well too.

Thank you I didn't knew what mutations do or how to get them I was only buying dinos with mutations in colour now know how to make my army of terzinos for bosses

Just some advice for some people who don’t wanna extract the data or for those who can’t (using cloud gaming for example) you can use Dino Storage or Super Spyglass Mods to see the point allocation of the stats in game, in real time.

do not follow this info it is wrong look up Tiia, you can get 255 in each stat

@@pattewinther2038 you shouldn't get 255 in a stat though, then you can't level it up anymore. 254 is the ideal number.
