But in all seriousness, Ark only has a few interesting, let alone impressive aspects about it. The story, for one, is quite interesting and profound, but the story alone doesn't make up for the fact that the game is dated, clunky, broken, and unfinished. You can like the game as it is, but I wouldn't call it impressive.

A lot of folks switched to ASA because its new and the official servers. For me, ASA ran like hot garbage on a 4080 unlike ASE where I got pretty much the entire game and all the DLCs in a 14$ bundle on sale. I can turn the settings all the way up and love all the content and mods.

Looks like for every step forward ASA took, they took a step back. Like, ASE had great explosions for the rocket launcher blowing up the house. But ASA lacked it and the structures disappeared... ASE lacked an effect for when you moved in the water, but ASA went further in the adding an effect to water when you moved in it. ASA feels definitive as an Ark experience if you're a PVP player, but for PVE, ASE is more complete. I do like that since I have all the ASE maps, I get the ASA expansion maps FREE. That's a step in the right direction. BUT the ASA packs feel more Pay to Win in that it allows additional creatures to spawn in...

​@@HaYouGotRekTed Dude, just press the exit button in the in game menu, then close the game by pressing the Start button over it, then select " X Quit" Maybe the problem is deeper than that for you, but most people having save issues just don't know how to actually close games the right way. Many games on Xbox have issues with saving, because Xbox players don't realize they are the ones causing the issue by keeping Quick Play turned on and not cutting off the game.

I assume you're on console like me since I rarely see PC complain about blurriness. Turn off motion blur, turn off film grain, color grading is up to you(I leave it on because I honestly don't know what it is). I turn off camera view bob and camera shake scale. I play at 90 FOV, which is comfortablly possible on Series X(Series S may not handle it) which I think genuinely helps since you aren't so zoomed in to everything. Now for lighting, I personally leave light bloom and shafts on, which is comfortable to look at in 3rd person, but things get choppy and bloom might be your cause of blurriness in 1st person, because that's basically what it is. Just makes light blend with backgrounds by kinda blurring them. If you want clarity, turn off bloom and shafts. If you just want visuals, keep em on and go 3rd person. I use a -50 3P camera offset to see what's in front of me, like a regular 3P shooter. I'm 2 months late, but it is what it is 👍

biggest difference is tamed spinos has faster bipedal attack speed in ASE, it's either bugged or nerfed in ASA where the spino in bipedal attacks MUCH MUCH SLOWER than most creatures. the dps is gone now from the spino i have no idea on why that change was made if its not a bug. DPS was the only thing keeping it going. i really hope they fix/revert it where the spino gets their DPS back because without it, spinos are irrelevant.

Amazingly, I'm on Series S, and ASA runs very well. As for ASE, I was getting DC. The game would just shut down randomly. Only time ASA does this to me, is during their updates to prevent PvP duping . But overall, I'm not disappointed for spending less than 50 on both the Game n DLC.. It's come a long ways

ASA looks fuckin insane, graphics are phenomenal, every texture I've seen seems to have had an upgrade. One thing I will say, at least from what I've seen in video, I actually think ASE has better lighting from a gameplay perspective. I mean, holy hell, ASA is BRIGHT. Everything is brightly lit to the point that it kinda detracts from it overall. Still, an upgrade everywhere else. Except the structures disappearing when the rocket launcher blew the house up, but that's an easy enough fix I'd imagine

Old days of ASE, if you looked out at the ocean it was like a flashbang. They added the settings to mitigate that later on. In ASA you can definitely turn off the bloom/light shafts as well, but then you're giving up the improved lighting to put it closer to old Ark standard.

If you want to know wtf I'm talking about do some research on Snail Games like how they pumped all the money generated from Ark into a failed EV company. WC should be flush with cash not broke, Ark 2 should have been funded till completion and base game ASA should have been free for all ASE owners. The best thing that could happen to Ark and its community is for Snail Games to go bankrupt and sell the IP and WC to literally anyone at this point including EA or Ubisoft.

i love how im a console player and I play in singleplayer you know the mode everyone hates for some reason and not once have i ever encountered rocks or bodies flying into the sky even with the creative gun which ive used many many times, I been playing this game since roughly late 2016-2017 and never encountered any game breaking bugs other than it crashing occasionally on ps4 but my old ps4 did that with a lot of games so

I went back to playing ASE. I found that ASA takes ALOT longer to load. I also don't like how ASA has a hazy blurry look when looking off into the distance when your not up close to a object.

I might take the word of many people here, but for us players that have played Ark: Survival Evolved since at least 2017, who have most if not all DLCs, and have played in both PC and console; Ark: Survival Ascended was basically taking the base game with all the same errors and mistakes, and making it even worse. Survival Ascended was a 40€ texture pack to Survival Evolved that made the game absolutely unable to be played unless you had a decent new PC from 2022 or newer. Hopefully, as WIldcard said, they'll do the whole game from scratch, and even better, we wont have any jetpacks, plasma guns nor massive mechs.

It’s a very useful mod that allows you to actually bond and earn their trust by feeding them food baits. For low-mid tier creatures you can just immediately feed them baits, higher tier creatures would require a battle to prove your worth before feeding them. The best part is that you can tame MOSTLY anything even those that aren’t tameable AND you always get 100% effectiveness(but you can enable effectiveness reduction though). It’s a COMPLETE change of pace compared to K.O, passive, sacrificial and imprint taming.

The only downside to the water improvement on asa is when a whole island of wildlife try to swim at the same time the map suffers major lag. And being wildlife is constantly moving....its constant lag
