Ark: Bird Cage Flyer Storage - How To Build

This flyer storage is similar to an ‪@AaronLongstaff‬ build that he did a while back but when I was designing this build I was thinking of a bird cage + a watch tower build I did on my channel mixed together and this is the finished product. you could raise the cage height up slightly if more head room is needed. @@SypherSam still I think you're older videos still have their own charm due to their experimental nature, I just wish there was a way to build some of these with the original building system. As I like to play the Switch version as well as a kind of building game. And it only has the original building system. As they do not bother to update it.

First video of yours I have watched. Nice build! Would be really great to have an item list at the start, and you could definitely benefit from cutting the video into sections so you can get a good take and not show the snapping issues. Got a sub from me though! Looking forward to what else you do

Thanksyou! I normally put the approximate item list in the description of the video and yes when i get some better editing software things will be smoother. As for the snap points, i show them because when you build you will probably deal with the same thing and it shows people that they aren't doing anything wrong when building but i get where you're coming from.

There are a few suggestions for constructing an aviary: Give yourself plenty time. Use done for you boat templates. (I read about these and more from Aviary magic method website )

@@SypherSam I agree, adding the 'hassles, the errors, the frustrations' of building in ARK is so important as many people play in Survivial, and on Official and those of us do know the pain of building in official build 'rules'; so seeing a youtuber with the same issues is a relief to know it happens to others. It's also good to see if there are other work around as well. I really liked this video, this was my first, I was looking for a birds nest inspired build; and I found yours. :D

For anyone playing on Xbox and/or a public server, the first couple steps need to be in this sequence for pillars and walls and foundations to snap to the correct place and not be obstructed: With the first stage of placing the 6 triangle foundations, also craft 2 wooden ceilings, place the ceilings so the middle of them line up with a seam in the first 6 triangle foundations and place those stone foundations on the seam of the ceilings, then pick up the ceilings and repeat 5 more times, then place the next 6 square foundations and next 6 triangle foundations and place the stone railing foundations down BEFORE you place any walls ON the square foundation sides only, then the pillars on either side of the foundations, then the walls on the stone railing foundations on the snap point that is on the outside of the railings when placing walls down while standing on the foundations themselves. This clears up the obstruction in the first couple steps, if you can't or don't know how to change settings. I hope someone finds use for this comment, will update as I build, but this was the easiest way I could get those first couple steps to work for me 😊 Edit 1: should have mentioned, to change the snap position on an Xbox 1x (might be different for other ones, I'm not sure) press the RB button until you get the position you're after Edit 2: Any updates as I build will be placed in the reply section 👍 Edit 3: please note, this creation is entirely their own idea, I'm not trying to overshadow their creativity with this comment, only help others who are having problems with the build. I watched the video all the way through first so have an idea of the steps involved and am simply changing the order as I go to be able to complete the build

With the next couple steps (placing middle ring of walls, pillars and large stone walls) as with before, you will need to place pillars before placing walls, so place the 12 pillars down first, doesn't matter if that is done before or after placing the ceilings. Then place your inner ring of stone walls/door frame. I used an argy to get onto the roof after this step, so having a flyer makes this easier if you are on a public server or can't change the settings. Place 4 pillars down on top of the other pillars from the previous step and place your first row of large stone walls. Edit 1: I then placed my stone staircase as I deviated from the video a bit and didn't make it as tall so in the future I might be able to add another layer to store more flyers, but if you also place your stone staircase at this point, you will be able to access the top of the pillars to place 4 more pillars on each column, then place the second row of large stone walls Edit 2: Please place your outside stair cases on the roof first BEFORE placing your spiral staircases, as one of mine was obstructing the normal staircase from being placed on the roof

Not sure if my game is glitched but placing any walls before pillars does not seem to work. As well as the sloped wall right and left before steps. Lots of destroying and rebuilding on my end after following this.

Love the build man. Currently building it right now but I’ve hit a snag. Early on when you start to put the Fence Foundations down in the middle room and they wouldn’t snap. For me, why would the object be green but won’t place? Are the foundations necessary or is there another way around this.

I couldn't do this build because I put the stone fence foundation but the pillars wouldn't snap. I had to keep stopping pausing and going back cause you move to fast with no explanation on what your doing.

Simplest solution if you're on Xbox and having issues with the very first stone pillars, place down the pillars after the fence foundations and then put up the walls. Edit:save yourself the frustration, put down all of the pillars before any walls 😂
