I don’t understand how Aberration could be anyone’s favourite DLC/map at all. I’m just playing through it for the first time at long last. I’d started it in ASE before my PS4 broke down and only gotten here once more on ASA very recently. I’m not really enjoying adapting to Aberration. I suppose it’s largely because I use fliers a lot and it feels like a cheap trick to make things more difficult by nerfing the player. Stealing a key ability long since earned. Fortunately I mostly play in single player mode and can work around the problem. And yet it’s not like I travel by flight exclusively. At some point I will traverse a map using tames that are physically quite small yet balance strength and speed on the ground such as raptors, Baryonyx or Pyromane. This is usually when searching for explorer notes or I want to get to know the map in a way that flying just can’t do efficiently. It’s especially irritating when there is no reason for taking flight away. We should at least have Desmodus or some kind of owl species.

I love how rock drakes, wyverns, and managarmrs all have draconis in their name.

Yeah, they are all the same genus. In ark, the Draconis genus includes Wyvenrns, Managarmrs, Rock Drakes, Crystal Wyverns and their kin, and most likely the Dragon. They are all dragons, so would be closely related.

They can’t all be called dragons because dragons have some very specific features such as four limbs and wings. That’s why Wyvern is used ingame instead of dragon. Wyverns one have two legs and a set of wings. Helena had it right though since all these creatures are part of the same family of a creature by genus. A bit like how humans are part of the ape family along with chimps, gorillas ect. Not dragons themselves but all related to dragons.

Ive been doing a story playthrough of ark, and I listened to each of your videos on the dossiers and explorer notes to get ready to play the next map on the hitlist for a good long while, enough to beat the bosses solo on official settings. the bulbdog is quite useful especially during a PVP map, specifically they can detect player enemies, thus anything that can move, be it creatures, humans or turrets. In a Fjurdor map, one of these barked for hostile enitities in a cave, and nothing died in the two man expedition.
