I started to build this... got the walls up, went to put the pillars down and they wouldnt go in... I was watching KZbin on my TV so I didnt see the post stating that the fence foundations had to be put in first. I had forgotten all about that. 1. for the fence foundations along the outer edge, am I correct in assuming that they go to the inside clip point? 2. how did you get the rug look in the areas that have that type of floor? I cant tell if that is modded or if its thatch foundation.

I started doing this build and tried applying the glass walls to the 2 sides of the entryway. it didnt work out for me so I ended up using regular window frames instead.

for anyone on official having trouble placing the glass & door frame place a temporary foundation on the outside place the window on the inner snap and the window frame on the outside then break the temporary foundation it won't destroy anything

No that actually made me mad there's a couple of things he doesn't show in the video you have to put a wooden fence foundation on the edge and then you'll be able to place the pillar where they need to be I'm still trying to figure out how he does the triangular roof upwards on a slant on the sides of the house

i built this in a cave on Rag... really easy to follow except when i was trying to work out where your pillars came from as you skipped that step and i didnt know the rail foundation trick. my mate did and filled me in though so all good. looks great

On Cue no problem just a little suggestion for next time u do a tutorial (maybe u already do this ,this is the first and only vid I've watched so far ) u should put the material list in the description or on the screen like how a couple of other KZbinrs do it and also maybe do a separate vid on doing the interior of the base for the less creative people like me or include that part in the same vid

I don't show interior design on my channel but i would recommend a KZbin channel called FirePumpkin, she does mainly interior design videos and furniture, she used to do interiors for Aaron Longstaff but someone else does them now, i cant remember their KZbin channel name but it should be in the description of some of Aarons more recent videos.

I just built this, and it looks amazing! Great job on the design. On a side note I was about halfway through this build and right as I pick up a triangle ceiling I placed wrong my entire screen starts shaking and I picture my whole house imploding. And then I realize my titanosaur stomped on a dilophosaur 🤦‍♂️

1 You can place greenhouse walls like that, you just have to enable clipping. If your playing on single player you need to go into General settings at the settings main menu and then tick the structure collision box. I think its near the bottom of the page

I built this on the ark server I'm on now. Its fantastic. Only issue I had were the pillars , on the sides and back. they didnt have a snap point so I had to use fence foundation(not shown in video) to get the pillars at the correct position.

Not impossible considering many people have built this house legit. If you play official and don't know that you have to place things in a certain order on official then maybe you should check the pinned comment and that would inform you and then you won't make these mistakes in the future.

SypherSam I know but just prefer the interior layout because I’m just in a two man tribe on my private server so it looked much more sufficient and ideal but I built your v2 last night. Gotta say I do love the exterior it’s just the interior is much more open which I’m not a huge fan of but other than that fantastic build buddy. @@jaymays_ try placing sloped thatch wall lefts to the foundation and then you should be able to place a door frame on the outer snap point and then you can snap the greenhouse wall behind it

How do you get the pillars to be on the corners of the walls like that. I can only place them in the middle of a ceiling.

Hmm 5:12 no stone pillars, 5:13 stone pillars. Kinda inconvenient for someone farming on official rules. I couldn't place the stone pillars on the corners so had to then demolish walls to place fence foundations on to allow me to put the pillars in. Annotation or comment in the description would have been nice

It's a great building, but have you done that kind of building on an official server? Without the fly command and no material limits, weight, water, food, or worry of dinos eating you and your house?

I have played official long ago but not anymore, takes too long to do stuff especially now I'm uploading videos. Just isn't practical for me. Most of my how to builds are doable on official though.

I saw you said to check the pin for the stone pillars..but in this video you put the walls up first. In the pinned video you had the pillars up first. Does it matter if the wall or pillars go up first? If it does.. both seem contradicting..

It only matters about putting the pillars up first if you are on official, if not you can place a fence foundation behind the wall and then place the pillars. The video in the pinned comment is easier to follow for people who don't know what order to place things in on official. This is a old video and at that time i didn't have any good recording or editing software and both where very glitchy and i made a mistake missing out how to place the pillars.
